    Help!!!

We are Rosie and Kelvin, a couple, old(ish) in years but young at heart, who have taken on more work than we have hours in the day for or enough hands to deal with.

This is our second project in Central Portugal. The first was a large, secluded quinta which, with the help of some wonderful volunteers, was transformed into a comfortable home and productive organic vegetable garden.
Sadly health issues have forced us to downsize and we have now moved into a property with half a hectare of land just on the edge of a large village.

Our property is a bit of a mess, a cosy mess none the less, but we desperately need some friendly, energetic people to help us make it beautiful.
The house is liveable but there is still tasks to be done inside and out. There are many projects to choose from, large and small, to suit all levels of skills and interests.
We need inspiration and are open to suggestions of how to transform our property into a little piece of Portuguese paradise.

I (Rosie) am a self taught cook by trade and have a cookery website. I have a big mistrust of the food industry and love the idea of growing and processing my own food. We are both computer nuts and love music of all genres.

Although our property is close to amenities we are still surrounded by wonderful views of the countryside where you get a true feel for Portuguese rural life.

Volunteers will get the chance to experience true Portuguese rural life and small scale organic vegetable gardening. I am also happy to share my cooking skills, which include Indian, Chinese, Korean and Portuguese dishes.

    Help

Most of the work here is physical - gardening, building, painting etc.
An EU or International driving license would be handy but not essential.
You are never to old to learn so if any volunteers have land management / small holding skills we would be very willing pupils.
We like the thought of people coming here and leaving their mark - a community project if you like. We are open to ideas for the use of the land and property.
In return for your help we hope to give you an interesting and enjoyable holiday.

    Accommodation

The accommodation will be a bedroom in the house. There is a fully working bathroom in the house.
There is a wireless internet connection in the house but no land line telephone.
Lunch and evening meal will be provided and when ever possible meals will contain vegetables from our organic garden. You will be responsible for providing and organising your own breakfast but I am happy to donate eggs and bread when available. We are not vegetarian but I am willing to offer a vegetarian option at meal times.
We are located within walking distance of Cernache do bonjardim . It is approximately 20 minutes drive to the small town of Serta. The nearest large town and train station is Tomar, 45 minutes drive away.
