    Description

Hi, we are Mark, Aoife (E-fa), Elayna (5) & Luca (2) and we live in beautiful West Cork on the coast near a busy boatyard between the villages of Schull & Ballydehob which are just 10 minutes drive away.
Mark's parents live next door in the original farmhouse and we live in converted barns built in a rocky slope!
We have a hill nearby with stunning views to the islands and on a good day can see all the way to the Mizen Head Lighthouse. A 10-15 minute drive away is Mount Gabriel with amazing 360degree views over to Bantry and beyond.
There are many beaches within a 45 minute drive, horse riding schools and kayak trips plus Tennis & basketballs courts in both villages.

We are situated a minutes walk from the local boatyard, often busy taking in motorboats and yachts
A 10 minute walk up the hill there is a Horse Riding school with Views out to sea and the islands of Cape Clear, Sherkin & more... These can be seen even better from the top of Mount Gabriel which you can walk, drive or cycle up.
The Three Peninsulas – West Cork & Kerry are on the most south-westerly stretch of coast on the Wild Atlantic Way and include – Mizen Head, Sheep’s Head and the Beara Peninsulas and the long coastal inlets and Dursey, Bere, Garinish and Whiddy islands and, the stretch of N71 from Kenmare in County Kerry to Bantry through Bonane and Glengarriff to Ballydehob offer the visitor a unique opportunity to experience a different world.
There is much opportunity to explore natural landscapes/ seascapes, small towns, castles, ancient sites and historic houses. Authentic local experiences to be had in every village with and the majority of restaurants sourcing all their food locally. Trad music and festivals are very common during the summer months.

We basically looking for a home help!

Mark is a Stunt Performer and can be called to work many hours drive away up the country with sometimes only a day's notice. When he's not away he's in the office finishing off editing Weddings from his previous Business or working on home improvements.

Aoife is a full time mum and could do with some help around the house, particularly lifting anything heavy; due to a sore back. Simple tasks such as carrying bags of shopping in/out the cart and into the car and unloading at home, to putting a chicken into the oven or cutting up and mashing a turnip!

With two active kids it would be super helpful if you loved to play with kids as our two are full of energy; love to throw/kick balls, go on the swings, ride their bikes and play in the sandpit. One of us will always be there so the WorkAway is not responsible for organising any activity.

We also have a French Bulldog that requires a walk and some ball play to keep him sane!

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

There is a room with a large Single Bed, Drawers and a large Window to the Front Garden. Plenty of 3 Pin plug sockets plus USB-C outlet.
We currently share a bathroom (bath, shower & sink) and a separate Toilet. We are slowly working on renovating the kitchen & hope to add on an en suite bathroom at the top of the building.
There is a dishwasher, washing machine in house and Tumble Dryer in the garage. Free Wifi throughout all rooms.

We generally have 3 meals a day.
Due to a Celiac in the house, the majority of foods are Gluten Free. One of the kids we are working on reducing an egg allergy so we have to be careful of cross contamination.
We have a Roast Dinner most Sundays - Beef or Chicken with roast veg. Otherwise we have smaller meals of Rice, Quinoa, Rice Cakes/Wraps, local fish, salads, home made soup, slow cooked beef brisket, air fried chicken & waffles, etc..
