Description
Hi everyone, we are on the hunt for someone or a couple to house sit for us while we take a family holiday over Easter
If you don't like the idea of a crammed hostel over the Easter period or feel like somewhere to relax before your next adventure please touch base with us.
Currently our plans have us heading away on the 18th April till the 27th April
While house sitting you'd need to feed and look over our dog, two cats and around 20 chooks, all of these only need fed morning and evening so you'd have all day to explore our wonderful part of NZ. The vege garden will be full of fresh produce and all the eggs you want will make for yummy meals.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

We are a family of four. Mark, Vicki, Lachlan & George.
Me and Vicki have both traveled & lived in London for three years, we used our time there to travel and meet new people, we really treasure this time in our lives and the experiences we got from it. When older we'd love for our boys to travel so what better way of planting the travelling seeds in them than to bring the world to our home.
We own a local building business and Vicki is a school teacher and assistant principal , Lachlan & George both attend our local schools.
We love spending time outdoors, camping, water skiing, hiking and both boys play winter and summer sports. We enjoy meeting new people and learning about your corner of the world while helping you to see ours, we'd like Workawayers to become part of our family and community while staying with us and will do our upmost to give them a true Kiwi experience.Types of help and learning opportunities

We try to treat our workaway guests like another member if the family, giving them the chance to come to sport practices and games, visiting family and friends, joining in with family activities. Having travelled ourselves we know a how a small slice of family life while being so far away from your own family can mean the world.
We are a kiwi family and live as such, we enjoy the outdoors and love to show people and are very proud our beautiful NZ.
We loved our time travelling and living overseas and value the experiences we had meeting people from all round the world, we'd love for our two boys to travel so what better way of sowing the seeds of travel than to bring the world into our home. The boys will be shy at first but then be ready for them to ask a million questions and want to show you their school, sports clubs and favorite places. If your super lucky you'll get the Lachlan & George guided tour around Temuka.Projects involving children
This project could involve children. For more information see our guidelines and tips here.
Help
We would love some help with general garden chores and family life around our property, helping with the kids, meals, mowing lawns, gardening, window cleaning, weeding through to developing new gardens. We have a new home so its all ahead of us. We are very flexible around your help as we understand the tourists attractions around here are very weather dependent so we always help you plan around the unpredictable Sth Island weather.

While with us you'll have your own bedroom (queen bed) within our new house and you'll share a bathroom with Lachlan and George .
We supply full board and we cook and eat as a family most mornings and nights, with growing boys meals are quite healthy and usually contain red meat (farm sourced) , fish or chicken and of course vegetables and eggs from our garden. What else ...
Temuka, Sth Canterbury is a small township but we're on the doorstep of everything you'll need. Within an hours drive you will see beautiful lakes, rivers, mountains, native bush, ski fields......everything beautiful NZ can offer and more. Tekapo, Mt Cook, Moeraki Boulders are all close by as are a few hidden local secrets that you wont find in travel blogs.
Buses go past daily from Chrishtchrch-Dunedin-Central Otago, and we're happy to pick up from the bus stop. We have bikes here that your most welcome to use to get around if you dont have a car. Closest city is Timaru (20min away) and Christchurch (2 hrs away) but Temuka has everything you should need.A little more information

Monika was just amazing, great communication to start with then once she got to our place she exceeded any and all expectations. People like Monika are the exact reason we joined Workaway. An absolute yes if she ever contacts you.

Karoline was great with the kids and fitted into our lives like she was our third child. She was polite and friendly and helped out around the home. We were lucky enough to have Karoline cook a Austrian meal for us and even found yummy home… read more
Our stay was great with them. They are very welcoming and have a warm and cosy house. The "job" was not work for us, it was just help them in their daily tasks (play with kids, help in the new house, walk Flynn, etc). They are really flexible about the work to do, it's… read more
