Description
We are a village situated on Shivalik Ranges of Pauri Garhwal district in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, India working to revive rural life by blending ancient wisdom (Sanskrit, yoga, Ayurveda) with modern sustainability.
Rooted in History, Growing Toward the Future:
Though our village traces its origins back to the 13th century, a defining chapter began in 1882 with the founding of a revered Sanskrit school - a beacon of Vedic knowledge and Tantra that shaped generations of scholars. Today, we’re not just preserving this legacy - we’re reimagining it.
We’re breathing new life into ancient wisdom by harmonizing Sanskrit, yoga, and Ayurveda with modern principles of sustainability. Through transformative education, organic farming, and cultural revival, we’re cultivating a living ecosystem that honors our heritage while empowering future generations..
Welcome to your Himalayan Home:
1. Experience authentic Himalayan village life
2. Contribute to education, farming, and community projects
3. Learn and share ideas on sustainability and culture
4. Find time for self-reflection and growth
As a volunteer, you could become a part of this mission. Every lesson taught, every garden tended, every idea shared, brings us one step closer to our dream of reviving the village. But far and foremost, we would love for you to become part of our family and want you to feel at home. We want you to be able to experience the rest a life closely connected to nature brings and escape the hustle and bustle of the city for a while. We want to provide a space where you can unwind, take a deep breath and experience a sense of belonging.
We want to create a sustainable ecosystem such that young villagers want to stay here and those who’ve left feel inspired to return.
We’re nestled at 1450 meters above sea level, our village offers a peaceful escape just 2.5 hours (80 km) from the spiritual town of Rishikesh and 60 km from Kotdwar - your gateway to peaceful mountain life.
Every contribution - big or small - brings us closer to reviving our village. Come as a volunteer, leave as family.
