Hello, We are a family of three (me, my husband and three year old little girl) lucky to live in Kintyre on the west coast of Scotland, enjoying fantastic views of the mountains of Arran at breakfast.
We live in a characterful 18th century farm house with significant surrounding gardens and two outbuildings. As a family we are very busy with two businesses and the nursery run etc. Our main business is a consultancy which we run mainly from home but requires my husband to work away one week per month. I run a barista mobile coffee van in the mornings. In our own time we love being together as a family at our home, we love photography and music especially electronica which my husband creates at home.
We plan to renovate both the house and the grounds over time so we can be flexible, but we would like help with gardening (mowing lawns, weeding, veg patch, polytunnel), grounds maintenance (fencing, painting etc) or general house work and maintenance.
We have a comfortable guest room for one person or a couple, WIFI, a shared bathroom. We have two cats.
Help in the house
Be part of close knit family and rural community. Happy to engage with language learning and teaching. Island hopping, host of local wildlife experiences.

We appreciate that you are here for a cultural experience too so work will be limited to less than 5 hours per day. The working pattern will be determined and set together, and we assure Workawayers that we operate on mutual respect and trust! No volunteer will be asked or expected to work more than 4/5 hours in any day and will have at least 2 spare days every week to discover this amazing landscape. We will share with you our knowledge to best enable you to enjoy your time off.
We have comfortable guest rooms in the house suitable for individual or couples. There is WIFI Access. There is a shared bathroom. Happy to provide meals with the family. There is space to camp in Garden or use of Outbuilding should you wish to.
This is a rural village. There is access to public transport (3 buses per day to the nearest town). We go to town regularly and are happy to provide lifts. There is no pub/nightlife in the village. Would suit workawayers who enjoy great outdoors, cycling, hiking, sailing, photography or art etc. Beach on the door step, fantastic wildlife and amazing views of Arran mountains. Ferry to Arran runs regularly from 2 miles down the road in the summer. Kintyre is a great place for Island hopping in the west coast. Some tourists do 5 Island expeditions seeing the Southern Hebrides and the Island of Arran over a few days. Slightly further (an hour or so) is Oban which is known as the Gateway to the Islands!

We have pets
We are smokers
