Dylan was a dream to have join the team: he's sunny-natured, can-do, hardworking, always willing to lend a hand to colleagues. I cannot say enough good things! We would have Dylan back in a heartbeat.

What an incredible stay! I had such a great time with Iona and Jasper, and everyone else in the family. They were incredibly welcoming, inviting me in to their house for a cup of tea and cake once I arrived. The work was varied, and easily completed. with a good mix of customer service, and more back of house jobs. There are always sweet treats

The grounds are absolutely incredible! Not something I'm used to, coming from Australia.
I can't recommend this workaeay enough.

I stayed here April - October 2023 and got a lot out of the experience of being there. You can feel how much Iona cares about the place and creating a welcome experience and a fluid team and a lot of good memories were made with the varied cast we had across the season. In terms of work there is lots of varied roles to be done and to try your hand at across housekeeping, kitchen, service, outside, reception etc. and Katie was very flexible and understanding to try make schedules work for everyone.
Skye itself is beautiful and a hikers dream, and fortunately the buses are decent enough to get around the island if you’re without a car. Jasper will even take you out on the boat if you ask nicely which was super cool.
Thanks for the experience, I hope this season is going well & maybe in the future I’ll be bagel boy once again :)Left by host for Workawayer (Rob )
It was an absolute pleasure to have Rob on our team this season. He initially signed up for a shorter spell and we were thrilled when he decided he'd like to stay on until the end of the season.

He was an integral part of creating a particularly lovely team dynamic this season - always ready to help out his coworkers. Nothing was too much trouble. We would welcome Rob back in an instant. We thoroughly recommend having him join your team.

Amanda is an absolute star. We truly loved having her on our team. She helped with all manner of tasks in running our hotel, including office and reception work, housekeeping , and table waiting. She is also great with small children, and regularly kept our toddler amused when we needed a bit of help.

Left by host for Workawayer (Lauren & Jon)
We honestly cannot say enough good things about Lauren and Jon (and their lovely dog, Belka). We so loved having them on the team. There was no task they couldn't or wouldn't do: they assisted with everything from reception work, office duties, gardening, log-splitting, table-waiting; housekeeping; taking in deliveries; entertaining our toddler;

Any time they were on shift we could relax knowing that things would be handled with perfect professionalism. They are conscientious, capable and hardworking: brilliant at taking initiative in dealing with the unexpected, and the every day, and great at suggesting ways to improve things, also. There was never any task that we hesitated about delegating to them.
Lauren and Jon were lynchpins in setting a brilliant team dynamic this season; always supporting their coworkers, patiently training up new starts, and cheerfully attending to the job at hand. They are infectiously good-humoured, which made working with them an absolute pleasure. It's genuinely tempting to keep how brilliant they are a secret so that we can keep them all to ourselves; but that wouldn't be right! We so hope to welcome them back again, and we whole-heartedly recommend having them join your team.

The family and local staff were all so welcoming, kind and generous. We were immediately made to feel part of the the home and local community. The hotel work was varied, interesting and always well explained. It is a perfect work environment if you like to work hard and have lots of variety. We were both very proud to be a part of a hotel team that had high standards and made sure guests had a great experience.
Iona, Jasper and Katie were always very accommodating and compassionate, making sure all workers were well catered for and that a fair balance of duties and hours were provided. These made for an excellent team feeling.
As well as pay, we were also provided an extremely comfortable room with en suite and small kitchen which was perfect for us and our dog. Our dog also loved being able to roam the grounds and play with the other resident pets! We also loved the communal meals - including the delicious staff lunches (thanks Kay!)
The Isle of Skye is one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen so it felt like a real privilege being able to call it home for 6 months. The whole team were eager to share their local knowledge and top tips for where to go on our time off. Jasper even offered everyone sailing trips when the timings/weather allowed.
We were very sad when the doors shut for the season and are already talking about possibly returning in the future.

The hotel is goorgeous, amazing place, we loved to work there! The work was very very exciting as we were able to work in different department. It is a very friendly hotel, also the guest are very friendly and talkative. We worked during the busy summer period, mainly serving breakfast, cleaning and evening service.
The acomodation was a nice cosy room with its own shower. Also we had access to the hotel kitchen to use it any time for cooking. It was nice to sit next to the aga and relax. There was more than enough food to accommodate us and we could cook for ourself.
The location is excellent, 10 minutes walk from the center, from the port. The island is wonderful place! Everyone has to go there once in a lifetime. If you love nature, this is the place to visit. There are so many sights here, that we were never left out of things to do. Iona has a great tips where to go and what to see.
