Description
Welcome to Provence!
Delighted to invite you to our private provençal estate , where we host Workawayers for one week at a time. We like to start and finish each group together, so that everyone shares the same experience from beginning to end.
We’re currently looking for helping hands with various projects, refurbishment, light maintenance, and other tasks sometimes inside but mostly outside the house.
Because Workaway is always more fun when shared,
We host up to 6 volunteers at once.
The house comes alive with youth, laughter, and cultural exchange. Between tasks, we’ll share meals, enjoy warm evenings with games and activities: petanque (bocce ball), ping-pong, music, or board games, and simply spend time together.
🏡 About the place
Our home is a rustic 19th-century house nestled in the French countryside, surrounded by 4 hectares of gardens, fruit trees, and a small forest. It’s a peaceful setting, full of charm, with space to breathe and connect with nature.
🐾 While there are no pets in the house, the neighbour’s cat often wanders in as if he owns the place, so don’t be surprised if you meet him! Life here is usually calm, but when volunteers, friends, or guests are around, the energy becomes lively in the best possible way.
👋 About me
My name is Baptiste, I’m 31, and I know what it’s like to be on the other side. I’ve volunteered in Thailand and Italy myself. I’ve also lived in Moldova, Romania, Russia, the UK, and Vietnam, each of which has left its mark on who I am today.
I love cooking, sharing meals, and long conversations around the table or by the fire. I’m equally happy discovering nearby villages, playing music, or opening a good bottle of local wine in the garden. For me, Workaway is about curiosity, kindness, and creating moments that feel both peaceful and meaningful.
✨ Look forward to welcoming curious, hands-on people who enjoy helping with heart, living simply, and sharing beautiful moments together.
We are not a business & workawayers will not be helping with paying guests or maintenance of spaces used by paying guests. (There will be no guests during this time).Types of help and learning opportunities

🌄 What’s around us
The house is at the foot of the Alpilles, a stunning region of southern France with incredible energy. You can go for long hikes right from the doorstep, wander through olive groves and rocky trails, or visit beautiful hilltop villages like Les Baux-de-Provence, Eygalières, or Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
There are also natural spots to swim, like rivers and lakes nearby, perfect for cooling off in summer. If you're into culture, we’re close to Arles, with its Roman ruins and contemporary art scene, and Avignon, known for its theatre festival and historic charm.
It’s a peaceful place, but never boring. Whether you're into nature, food, or exploring local traditions, there’s always something to discover.Help
🌱 What we’ll be doing together
Depending on the season and time of day, we might be sowing seeds, planting young plants, taking wood cuttings, harvesting fruits, or doing some good old-fashioned weeding (yes, it’s not the most glamorous part, but it’s essential for a healthy garden!) and when too hot some small tasks in the house (rejuvenating some furniture).
Working hours are around 4-5 hours per day (usually in the morning but not too early!) And then you get the afternoon free to relax/visit etc., and Saturday and Sunday off.
Most of the help will be in the garden, especially around maintaining the vegetable beds, and the general beauty of the place.
Together, we’ll figure out the best schedule based on what needs to be done and what suits your energy and interests.Languages

🍽 Meals
We cook and eat together. The kitchen is a shared space where everyone gets involved: whether it’s chopping veggies, discovering a new recipe, or teaching us a dish from your home country. It’s a big part of the experience here, and I love when meals turn into moments of connection. Expect a mix of French classics and whatever inspiration you bring with you!
This place is ideal if you like being around people, sharing meals, stories, and the rhythm of country life. If you enjoy cooking, laughing, and making yourself at home, you’ll fit right in.What else ...
The property is located in a beautiful area. During leisure time, you can enjoy our large swimming pool, ping-pong table,, board games, and quiet corners for some me-time. You can also pick figs and make fig jam, as we have a lot them at during end June/beginning July and of end August/beginning September.
If you're interested in joining us, please let us know which tasks you'd like to do from the ones listed above. Also, tell us if you have any sanding or painting experience, or have worked with lime or clay plaster, or have any other creative or technical skills we might find helpful. We look forward to hearing from you!
🚗 Getting here
The property is located just 10 minutes by car from Tarascon-sur-Rhône train station (postal code: 13150), making it fairly easy to reach by train from major cities like Avignon, Arles, or even Marseille. I can help organize pickup or give you directions if needed.
🚭 Important note
No smoking is allowed inside and restricted to 1 place outside. The region is very dry, especially in summer, and there’s a real risk of wildfires. Thanks for understanding and helping keep the land safe.A little more information
