Description
*** A big thank you to the lovely Workawayers who've joined us!***
We offer an opportunity to experience local life while helping a few hours a day with light tasks such as gardening and tidying.
We provide accommodation and meals. Stays are best suited for those who enjoy shared living and cultural exchange. We do not operate as a business and as such will not need help with anything related to business.
My husband and I live in the tourist area of the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren in County Clare in the west of Ireland. If you would like to discover the area and help us with our house and garden, or even if you want to improve your English skills, come and meet us ! -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
West Clare offers a wealth of cultural and historical experiences. Located in the village of Liscannor, you can delve into the local history, including the story of Cornelius O'Brien, a prominent county landlord who was the first to promote the Cliffs of Moher as a tourist destination. Liscannor also boasts pubs with live music in the evenings. Just 5 km from Liscannor, Lahinch offers great surfing opportunities and is a great spot if you enjoy the beach. There are shops and restaurants there as well.
The Cliffs of Moher are just a 30-minute walk from our house. Near the Visitor Center, you'll find O'Brien's Tower, built in 1835 as an observation point for tourists. While exploring the area, you'll come across the famous Liscannor stone, with a quarry located adjacent to the Cliffs.
If you prefer to see the Cliffs from the sea, head to Doolin Pier for a ferry ride. You can also take a day trip to the Aran Islands from Doolin, where you can learn about Celtic history and speak Irish with the locals. Back in Doolin, you can enjoy traditional Irish music in a pub or visit Doolin Cave to see its famous massive stalactite.
For those interested in exploring larger cities, Ennis, Limerick, and Galway are all nearby. There are many more activities and sights to enjoy in the area, waiting for you to discover. -

My sincerest thanks to the warmth Marie bestowed during my short - and worthwhile - stay. I had a lot of fun helping out with the apartments, if I could have done more, I would have been glad too!
Also the surroundings are wonderful! The rolling hills of Ireland are etched on my irises.
