Hi everyone! I'm Carola, a 24-year-old from Italy. I'm curious, independent and sociable, and I genuinely enjoy meeting new people and sharing experiences, while also being perfectly happy spending time on my own.

I love travelling, both solo and with others, discovering new places, cultures and traditions, and experiencing everyday life somewhere different from home.

My first Workaway experience was with a wonderful family in Ireland, and after that I returned to Italy to continue my studies. I graduated in Economics and recently completed my Master's degree in Marketing at the University of Turin. During my studies, I also had the opportunity to spend six months at a university in Finland – an experience I'll always carry with me, especially because of the incredible friendships I made there.

Now that I've finished university, I'm excited to start travelling again, discover places I've never been to and, every now and then, return to the ones where I've already left a little piece of my heart.

I'm an active, easy-going person who loves being outdoors, learning new things and getting involved. I'm always happy to lend a hand, share what I know and, most importantly, learn from the people I meet along the way.

I've gained experience in quite a few different areas over the years, and I'm always happy to learn something new!

For around 10 years, I've been helping my father with our small family-run resort in the Roero area in Italy. This has given me hands-on experience with many aspects of hospitality: welcoming guests and reception work, waiting tables, helping in the kitchen, social media, photography, organising activities and events, and generally stepping in wherever help is needed.

I have a background in accounting and IT, a Bachelor's degree in Economics and a Master's degree in Marketing. I've also worked in accounting for different companies and completed an internship with Mizuno, where I was involved in marketing and event organisation. I currently help manage social media for my family's business, so I'd be very happy to help with content creation, photography, basic marketing or social media.

I also enjoy practical, hands-on work and don't mind getting my hands dirty. I'm used to helping out wherever needed rather than sticking to one specific task.

I love cooking and would be more than happy to prepare some Italian dishes and share recipes. I also have experience with children, especially from looking after my younger cousins.

Italian is my native language and I'd be very happy to teach or practise it with you. I speak English at a C1 level and I'm comfortable living and communicating in an international environment.

What else ...

Sport has always been a big part of my life. I played volleyball from the age of six until last year, usually training at least twice a week. I also love skiing – I grew up in the mountains, so I've been skiing since I was little – as well as swimming, cycling and generally spending time outdoors. And whenever time and budget allow it, I absolutely love go-karting!

I'm also a bit of a nerd. If you can't find me outside doing something, there's a good chance I'm somewhere cosy with a book. I love physical books, although travelling has slowly converted me to an e-reader. Reading is my way of escaping reality for a while, so fantasy and easy-going reads are usually my favourites. I'm a Harry Potter, Hunger Games and Fourth Wing fan, among many others.

Music is another constant in my life – honestly, my Spotify playlist probably needs more breaks than I do. I'm definitely not a great singer, but luckily I'm self-aware enough not to ruin the music for everyone else! :)

I love animals and have always had at least one dog in my family, so I'm very comfortable around pets.

I also genuinely enjoy cooking, especially Italian food, and I'd love to cook together, prepare meals for others or exchange recipes (and yes, I know a few that should make your mouth water!).

Finally, I love driving and have a full driving licence. I'm confident driving both manual and automatic cars and can get an International Driving Permit if needed.
