Description
We are a family of 4 with two young daughters. We moved onto a 100 acre bush block 6 years ago and started from scratch with a big vision in mind to build Groundswell AU, which would include accommodations and a spa. The vision and plans for Groundswell remain fluid as we learn about the landscape.
We have recently finished our family home and continue to build on our gardens, orchard, and walking trails. Lauren has studied in permaculture and regenerative agriculture to help in the land design. She works as masseuse and would love to build a small unique spa on the land as well as a labyrinth in the future. We host a Hipcamp on the property as well for travelers to rent that has a small orchard and has maintenance needs.
Ryan works on a rotation on a ship which travels internationally. He is very knowledgeable about Australian wildlife and bush life. He is a passionate water sportsman, loves fishing, surfing, and entertaining.Types of help and learning opportunities

Ryan and Lauren have both traveled a lot internationally and welcome guest from all over the world. The Australian bush landscape where we live is quite unique and the wildlife is abundant. If this is your first time in Australia, you will love seeing all the birds, emus and kangaroos. Ryan and I are still building on gardens and can share own experience with growing food and companion planting. We are only 5 minutes away from Yuraygir National Park and incredible beaches.

Help
We would like a shortterm workaway guest to help with the kids, the gardens, and daily house hold task when Ryan is away. Our girls are 1 and 5 years old and LOVE attention and playing playing playing :) When Ryan is home, he is always working on projects, maintenance, building, planting, and making improvements towards our bigger picture goals. We have a guest room in our home or the option to have your own privacy at our "camp" if you are comfortable in the bush on your own and have your own van/caravan.
Languages
Languages spoken
English: FluentThis host offers a language exchange
We speak English at home. Just a little Spanish from travelling and would love for our kids to learn anything about other languages and cultures as they grow.Accommodation
We have a guest bedroom in our home or a caravan near the house that allows privacy for the Workaway guest and ourselves. It has a double bed, power and a kitchen. Internet and hot shower are shared at the house. We can discuss food options individually if you prefer to have more time alone, you can provide your own food. If staying in our guest room (with queen bed) we can provide food in trade for hours of help. We are flexible with food options. We eat healthy balanced diet, including meat. If the guest would like to stay in our home, I do like to keep the house clean and tidy and help keep dishes washed. The bathroom/shower is shared with the kids but we do keep it clean. I'm a virgo haha.
What else ...
We live about 15 minutes from Maclean, NSW and 5-10 minutes to the nearest beaches of Yuraygir National Park and Brooms Head. It is probably best to have your own transportation as we are not within walking distance to any shops/entertainment.

Limited internet access
We have pets
We are smokers

Space for parking camper vans
We have a nice camping spot on our property that is private, away from the house with its own deck, outdoor shower, compost toilet and water tank so a Workaway guest with a camper van is welcome. It has a dam and orchard around it as well in a peaceful bush setting. There is no power on site so a van with its own little standalone power would be good or someone happy to camp under the stars. This option is only available if not booked through Hipcamp.
How many Workawayers can stay?
