Description
Our place is in a quiet location in Vienna, near the Old Danube, not far from the Lobau nature reserve as well as the Danube Island, yet also close to the Donauzentrum, a large shopping center. The house has character and is surrounded by a 600m² natural garden with trees – plenty of greenery, a treehouse, and enough space to relax outdoors. We also have a cuddly cat named Gandalf. Public transport connections are excellent; you can reach the center of Vienna in 20-30 minutes. Several bicycles are also available for exploring the surrounding area and the city.
Since Martina has a chronic illness, we are looking for support with various everyday tasks.
Michi, a professional woodworker, is often away on site.He likes to share his skills, if you are interested.
We also operate a community bike (Grätzlrad), an electric cargo bike, which can be borrowed free of charge by anyone.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Vienna is a city full of history, art, and culture, and we want to share that with you. For us, hosting is not just about help around the house, but having you a great experience in this beautiful city.
While we may not always have time to explore the city together, we’re happy to support you in discovering Vienna in your own way—whether that’s recommending places, sharing tips, or helping you find cultural events and experiences that suit your interests.
At home, we enjoy spending time together through cooking, conversations, and daily life. We’re happy to share insights into Austrian culture, routines, and how life here really works beyond the typical tourist experience.
At the same time, we’re very interested in learning from you - your culture, language, and perspective. We see hosting as a mutual exchange where both sides gain new ideas and experiences.
We aim to create a relaxed and open atmosphere where cultural exchange happens naturally through shared everyday moments.

Help
Your tasks with us will include manual help around the house, gardening, helping in the household and cooking.
It is important to us that you enjoy helping out and have a certain degree of independence.
We do „Food sharing“, so we always have plenty of organic veggies and fruits and processing these is often a task too.
At the moment we build an camper van with is not finished yet.
We prefer to have short stays, even if you like to come for 1 or 2 day s it’s fine.

Accommodation
There is a lovely, bright guest room with wooden floor, a double bed (140cm) and a large window overlooking the garden. A small private bathroom with a toilet and sink is right next to it.
Usually we have individual breakfast and a shared cooked meal in the late afternoon.
What else ...
There is no free parking spot in front of our house. There is space to park but the charge is 3,40€ /hour in Vienna from 9:00 to 22:00. We don’t have parking spot on our property. Best solution would be to park the car outside of Vienna
