    Description

    Hello everyone!
We are a family made up of Paolo (videomaker and photographer), Francesca (IT & Data Manager) and little Aria, born a few months ago. We live in Tuscany in Campiglia Marittima, a village of medieval origin situated on a small hill (about 200 meters above sea level) in the heart of the Val di Cornia, with a view over the valley all the way to the sea in front of us.
We recently bought and renovated an apartment at the gates of the historic center, with the project in mind to make it a hospitable and welcoming place for people like-minded to us, with whom to share part of our daily life.

We have many interests: we love cinema (we have a home projector with a dedicated wall for movie and Japanese anime nights ), modern board games (the harder the better), good food both local and ethnic, walks in nature, astronomy (we own a private telescope to observe the stars and if you wish we can organize an evening outing to the local astronomical observatory) and wellness practices such as pilates, yoga, and meditation.

    - Photography & Video: Paolo can give suggestions or directly organize photo and video outings in the most picturesque places of the area.
    - Artisan Shops & Wine: In the surroundings there are many characteristic villages where you can find the shops of local artisans and their made in Italy. It is also a wine territory, with numerous renowned wineries where visits and tastings can be organized.
    - Baratti Archaeological Park: The Val di Cornia area was a central hub of the life of the Etruscan population. A few minutes from home you can visit the evocative Necropolis and/or the Acropolis as well as scenic trails.
    - Nature Trekking: The Val di Cornia offers completely free trekking routes distributed everywhere among woods, hills and the Etruscan Coast (in addition to the San Silvestro Archeomining Park, the Rimigliano park and the evocative Gulf of Baratti).
    - Seasonal Activities: Depending on the time of year there are festivals, street markets, cultural events and sea in summer or thermal baths (Venturina) in cooler periods.
    - Modern Board Games & Nerd Evenings: We are big fans of board games. If you feel like playing or discovering new titles, we will be happy to organize together.
    - Music: Paolo's family of origin manages a local music school. In this way we can be updated on musical events in the surroundings and we have direct acquaintances in the environment in case anyone is interested, both as a spectator and as a protagonist.

    Help

We ask for help of about 4-5 hours a day for 5 days a week.
For the remaining 2 days of the week, we would like our guests to have complete freedom to explore the surroundings and enjoy their stay in the valley.

The tasks we would like support with are varied; they mainly concern the normal management of the house (cleaning and tidying up), help in arranging the storage room that we would like to transform into a cellar, some small restoration and upcycling work on furniture (DIY / upcycling), a bit of gardening, the preparation of daily meals, and a "watchful eye" toward the baby as needed (note: this is absolutely not a full-time babysitting job, just help in managing the day).

    Getting Around & Travel Tips
Public transport connections exist, but it is the typical transport of a village far from big cities. For this reason, having your own car is recommended to be able to move in total freedom and easily explore the entire region.
We are available to give a hand with transport whenever we can, especially to accompany you to and from Campiglia Marittima station, a strategic point from which to comfortably reach the main Tuscan art cities (such as Livorno in 35-50 minutes, Pisa in less than an hour and Florence in less than two hours with direct trains). Having a small baby, we are a bit more bound for daily trips outside the village, so having a car with you is not essential, but it will offer you much more freedom to explore the area.

    What We Are Looking For
We are looking for a couple or two friends who want to give us a hand with daily tasks and, above all, build a sincere relationship of reciprocity, creating enriching bonds and sharing moments of daily life with us.
It would be fantastic if guests could speak in English with little Aria (we are not used to doing so), so as to offer her a first natural contact with the language from an early age.

Living Together & Respecting Peace and Quiet
Information about our home: the apartment has its own independent entrance, but it is located inside an apartment building. We want to maintain a serene, cordial and relaxed atmosphere, which is why we would like to share the spaces while respecting the peace and quiet of the neighbors and with the usual good manners.

Our 5 Polar Stars (Our Guiding Values)
    1) Freedom of thought and expression: We love open minds, stimulating discussion and the beauty of sharing different perspectives on the world.
    2) Curiosity: It is what keeps us alive and in continuous movement, pushing us to discover different cultures, stories, languages and ways of living.
    3) Sincerity: We believe in authentic relationships, without filters and based on transparency from the very first moment.
    4) Respect: Towards people, spaces, nature and the rhythms of each person's life.
    5) Empathy: The ability to listen, put oneself in the other person's shoes and create a human bond.
