Description
We are Paul and Angela and three dogs, plus our cats and our three wonderful street dogs. We live in a wonderful village, surrounded by greenery and fresh air, We had many helpers when we were in Greece and had volunteers from all over the world, we are now looking for helpers here in Bulgaria. We have plans to create a natural garden and need help weeding, mowing etc, there are lots of other things to do, painting, fencing, etc. We are looking for volunteers to come, starting in May. We usually work from 9am until 1pm if we can stand it that long.. with two days off per week but we can work around preferences or needs. Three years ago one of our large barns collapsed, unsure what to do with the remaining walls, we did what everyone would do and turned it at least from the outside, into a castle, the remainder of the inside, we are going to turn into a large greenhouse. We prefer couples or friends but are happy for singles to volunteer. Do come and stay.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We love listening to the adventures of our volunteers, we enjoy taking them walking and visiting the local historical sites, which we are surrounded by, Roman, Bulgarian and Byzantine. We also teach our volunteers the history of our village.We show them the culture of our village life and introduce them to the wonderful little bars, where we eat, drink and mix with the other villagers.We work alongside our volunteers but also leave them to their own devices, we love to have their contributions to our plans, we all benefit from the exchange of views and ideas. We have a lovely natural garden and we are keen to show people what we have done and why we have created it. We are always looking for advice with regard to this.

Help
We need people for general tasks, painting, gardening, helping with creating a waterfall. We have a natural garden that needs a surprising amount of work. We may also require help with setting up our greenhouse, as mentioned above.
Generally we help alongside our volunteers.
Sometimes we have need of house, pet sitters.

Accommodation
Accommodation is a self contained house with three bedrooms, a large fridge, full bathroom etc, food provided and WI-FI. The accommodation is at the top of our garden and our house is at the bottom of the garden, it is set in an acre so you have your own privacy. There are excellent views and walking. There is an excellent summer kitchen which we use to entertain and in the village there is a wonderful bar that serves good food.
We provide food for our volunteers so that they can cook for themselves, we also have shared dinners, which they or we may cook. We are always interested in the meals our volunteers cook, we are not vegetarian but most of our volunteers have been and we are happy to accommodate that. We can cater for all tastes and often take our volunteers shopping.
What else ...
There are always plenty of things to do in your spare time, there is a coach every day except Sunday that takes you into the local town of Shumen, some 15kms away, however we generally take our volunteers in because we always have something to do in town.
