Description
Hello Workawayers!
Thank you for checking out our WorkAway profile.
We are a family of three — Ben (33), Kayla (33), and Olive (2.5). We’ve hosted on and off over the past few years and enjoy being part of the WorkAway community whenever it fits in with our busy lives. Cultural exchange comes naturally to us as travelers, and we love helping people have the best possible stay in New Zealand.
Our home is a small family homestead on 6 acres in the Otunui Valley, surrounded by diverse farms and beautiful nature. We dream of growing as much of our own food as possible — though please note, this is not a commercial operation.
The help we need at the moment includes collecting fresh eggs for breakfast, repairing fencing, general housekeeping, lawn mowing, cooking, spending time with our sheep, and assisting with planting and gardening.
We’re located 25 minutes west of Taumarunui in a rural setting. Having your own car is an advantage but not essential.
If you’re trustworthy, friendly, and have references, and would like to experience rural NZ life, we’d like to hear from you!

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We live in a remote rural environment surrounded by diverse farming and vast nature. The isolation and strong small community is an experience you will only find in places like this.
Explore the Wanganui River from our door step, learn some basics about farming and help grow your own food.
Many great walks and mountain biking tracks in the area for you to exploreHelp
During your stay, you might find yourself gathering eggs in the morning, lending a hand with fencing projects, helping out with light housekeeping, giving the lawn a tidy-up, sharing your cooking skills in the kitchen, befriending our sheep, or getting involved in planting and gardening.
