    Description

We are more a home than a hostel. We are a shared house in a privileged place in the center of Santiago: A green island in the middle of the metropolis. In our house, people from all over the world are living together with Chileans. We are men and women, students and working people, of different ages. In our old house with three floors, everbody has his private room with natural light. We share the bathrooms, the kitchen and the huge garden where our cats live. In winter, the trees are full of oranges and mandarins, and in summer they provide us shade.
We are close to a Metro station and to bycicle lanes. From here you can reach the most important cultural institutions of Chile in a short time.
We offer an enjoyable space to live, with a minimum of restrictions. With your contribution, living together will be pleasant and a good experience for you and for everybody.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Spanish is spoken in our house, so you can improve your Spanish with us. We can help you in English and German. We live together in a multicultural environment which is enriching for everybody. With us you have the opportunity to get to know the Chilean culture and idiosyncrasies. The manager is a German architect who lives in Chile for 20 years now who can tell you a lot about country and people.
Our neighbourhood is one of the best known and emblematic neighborhoods in Santiago. It might be the most international one of whole Chile, where many immigrants, artists and students are living with long-established families. You can buy fruits and vegetables at a different colourfull street market every day. There is a park in every direction as well as interesting cultural offers and museums. Of course, there are many places to go out and party.

There is always something to do in a big old house with a garden.
At the moment we would like to make our garden more ecological: Water efficient irrigation, planting of edible plants, rebuilding of a pergola are the main projects.
You are welcome as a volunteer if you are a handyman, specially if you know something about this: gardening, carpentry, basic electricity, painting, cleaning.
