Description
We are a married couple named Emilia and Erlend that are living with our cat Coco at our small farm in the forest in Eastern Norway, close to the city of Kongsvinger. We really enjoy the fresh air and calm atmosphere, and we want other people to also experience the tranquility at this place. We love hiking and nature, and we both practice yoga and meditation. We would like to share our knowledge and the possibility to enjoy the nature of Norway.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We would be glad if we can share different kinds of morning practices together, such as yoga, meditation, etc. We are both yoga teachers and are also planning to start with free yoga classes in the local town. Through our social organization we are already providing free yoga classes in the city centre in Oslo, which all Workaway-guests are welcome to join.
Emilia is also a trained graphic designer and social worker. Erlend is an electrician and social anthropologist. We would like to share our knowledge and to learn something new from our Workawayers. We think it would be perfect for someone who wants to experience living simple and close to nature, love cats, wants to create something meaningful, share eco-knowledge and wants to live a balanced and harmoneous lifestyle. We would like to share knowledge about sustainable living, gardening, handcraft or language. Emilia speaks Spanish, and would love to learn Italian. Erlend also wants to learn more Spanish :)
We have previously built our own tiny house on wheels (which is at the farm), and we would love to share our journey and tips & tricks related to that project! :)Help
Painting and building simple Ikea type furniture where we live. Help to plan/build simple outdoor bench in the forest, where there will be a nice view over the landscape. Garden help to plant trees and bushes. For those interested in animals, we could need help to prepare a small dollhouse into a chicken house, since it is already suitable just with some small adjustments.
All tasks will be agreed beforehand according to the volunteers interests, and is only linked to our own living area of our home and private garden.Languages

Emilia is keen on learning Italian, so she will be very happy to have an italian speaking friend!Accommodation
We provide a single room with a good bed. If you are 2 good friends, or a couple you can share the room. There are 2 bathrooms in the house so there is no traffic for the shower.
Meals will be 3 times a day, times can be flexible but to have an idea, breakfast is usually around 8:30, lunch 12:30 and dinner 19. We are vegetarian, and we are therefore preparing vegetarian/vegan food. What else ...
There are many possibilities here for hiking, swimming and cycling. The forest is just behind our house and the river is also a short distance away. In winter there are skiing tracks close by for cross-country skiing (we have some skiis) and availability to walk in the forest with or without snowshoes. We have two bicycles that can be borrowed to explore the area. Around 30 minutes by bike are two lakes to swim in, and lots of forest roads to explore. Many affordable and even some free mountain cabins in the area. See or for more information about cabins in the Kongsvinger / Grue area.
The closest grocery store is in a small town around 5 minutes away by car. The city of Kongsvinger is 15 minutes away by car. We can drive volunteers to Kongsvinger if needed, and there are trains to Oslo every hour that takes around 1 hour 20 minutes.
Volunteers are also warmly welcome to join us our daily 30-60 minutes morning walk with our cat Coco!A little more information
