    Description

We are a family of five, and we are going on interrail for about a month in June this year. We are looking for someone to help look after our house, our pets and our garden while we are away. We have 4 cats, 2 small rabbits, ten chickens and 4 horses. The cats are all very friendly and happy to cuddle and hang around all day. The rabbits are still young and still learning to be cuddled. The chickens produce a lot of beautiful organic eggs, and our horses are Icelandic and one small pony. They are very friendly and calm.

We have a big house with two floors, and a lovely view over our garden, the lakes and the forrest nearby. You will live in our house by yourself, and share the garden with our neighbors - a lovely family with two little kids.

We live in the countryside with a big garden, an organic greenhouse, and our own small lake, where we can go swimming during summer. We love our green surroundings, the quietness and the closeness to the beautiful nature here.

Our house is very close to the cozy and beautiful small city Ry, and the small town Alken, where the train leaves for Aarhus every 20 min. There is so much to enjoy here during summer, the lakes of the area around Ry, the nice atmosphere of Alken in the afternoon on a summer day, "the Sky Mountain" in the forrests of Søhøjlandet close by, and Aarhus is great when you are looking for experiences in the second largest city of Denmark.

You will learn about the lifestyle in the countryside of Denmark while staying at our place, and our neighbors will be happy to guide you to experiences in the local community. Every Wednesday and Sunday there are koncerts for free at the small harbour in Ry. On the 23th of June you have the opportunity to experience the danish tradition Sankt Hans, where local people meet around a bonfire at the lake of for example Mossø, singing and celebrating midsummer in Denmark.

    Help

We are looking for help taking care of our house, animals and garden while we are away. That means feeding them once a day, and making sure that everybody is doing good. Our neighbors will be taking care of the horses.
We also need help taking care of our houseplants and the vegetables in the greenhouse, and it would be lovely if you could also help with small project in the garden, and around the house outside.

We have large house, with large rooms, and beautiful views to the nature around us from all of the windows of the house.
You will be preparing your own food while you stay at our house, and you are free to use the eggs and vegetables from the greenhouse.

    What else ...

We have bikes you can use while you are here. The train station of Alken is only 10 minutes away by bike. Here there are connections to Aarhus, Skanderborg and Silkeborg.
Our house and garden is nonsmoking, and you should mind that we are living close together with a family with kids, so there must be nice and quiet in the evenings. We hope that you will enjoy the beautiful nature, the garden and our lovely pets while you are here.
