    Description

We are looking for friendly, reliable and hands-on Workawayers who would enjoy helping us with general private maintenance and everyday tasks around our historic family property in Austrias beautiful Wachau Valley.
The help may include light gardening, tidying outdoor areas, cleaning and organising storage spaces, painting, simple maintenance work and preparing privately used rooms for family members, friends or other Workawayers.
This is a private home and family property. The tasks are not connected to any commercial activity, construction business or professional restoration project. Workawayers will not be asked to work in rooms or areas intended for paying guests, holiday rentals or other business purposes.
No specialist experience is required, but practical skills, reliability and a willingness to help are very welcome. Tasks will always be discussed in advance and adapted to each persons abilities and interests.

Each Workawayer has their own private bedroom and private bathroom, offering comfort and privacy during their stay in our historic castle. We provide three meals per day. Breakfast is usually self-service, and all necessary food and ingredients are provided. Lunch and/or dinner is normally prepared or cooked, and we also often have barbecues. From time to time, meals are shared together with our family. At other times, Workawayers can prepare their own meals using the food and ingredients we provide.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Our castle is located in a peaceful and secluded setting in the heart of the beautiful Wachau Valley, surrounded by vineyards, forests and nature. In your free time you can enjoy hiking, cycling, swimming in the Danube, visiting historic towns, castles, monasteries and local wine taverns (Heurigen).

The nearest village offers basic services, and we are happy to help with transport to the nearest train station when possible.

We value a friendly, respectful and relaxed atmosphere. We ask everyone to help keep the shared areas clean and to treat this historic castle with care.

This is an ideal place for people who enjoy nature, history, practical work and a peaceful lifestyle. We especially welcome positive, open-minded people who like working as part of a team and want to experience authentic Austrian country life.

One of the highlights of staying with us is our beautiful male Bloodhound. He is a large, gentle, and affectionate dog with the classic calm Bloodhound personality. Despite his impressive size, he is very friendly, loves people, and is especially patient with children.

He enjoys being around guests, relaxing in the garden, and joining us for walks around the castle and vineyards. If you like dogs, you'll quickly make a loyal friend. No previous experience with Bloodhounds is needed—just kindness and a love of animals.

He is an important member of our family and helps make the castle feel like home. ❤️
