    Description

    Greetings from Malaysia!

My name is Michael, and I am the Director and Owner of an English language centre located in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Our school specialises in delivering high-quality English language education to students from around the world in a professional, supportive, and multicultural environment.

We are committed to providing a standard of English instruction comparable to leading institutions in countries such as Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada, while offering significantly more competitive tuition and living costs. In addition, our centre is an officially authorised IELTS and TOEFL examination venue.

Conveniently situated close to Kota Kinabalu’s city centre, our campus is within easy reach of shopping malls, restaurants, accommodation, and other essential facilities. The school is equipped with modern, fully air-conditioned classrooms, computer facilities, and high-speed Wi-Fi access available to all students throughout their studies.

Our students benefit from engaging lessons delivered by experienced and dedicated educators who are passionate about helping learners achieve their goals. Beyond the classroom, studying in Kota Kinabalu offers a unique opportunity to experience the natural beauty, cultural diversity, and vibrant lifestyle of tropical Borneo.

Supported by a team of more than 30 academic and administrative staff members, we strive to create a welcoming atmosphere where students can grow academically, socially, and personally while enjoying an unforgettable educational experience.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Travellers staying with us will have the opportunity to experience everyday life in Malaysia and Sabah while interacting with people from many different countries and cultural backgrounds.

Through their time here, Workawayers can learn about Malaysian and Sabah culture, local customs, food, traditions, and daily life. They will also meet students from countries across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and other parts of the world, giving them the opportunity to exchange ideas, experiences, languages, and perspectives with people from very different backgrounds.

By assisting our local teachers and participating in supervised classroom activities, Workawayers can also develop their communication, intercultural and teamwork skills. They may gain experience working in an international educational environment, practising how to communicate with people who have different levels of English and different cultural backgrounds.

We also encourage Workawayers to share their own country, language, culture, traditions, food, and personal experiences with our students and staff. This makes the experience a genuine two-way exchange rather than simply volunteering.

Outside the school, Workawayers will have the opportunity to explore Kota Kinabalu and Sabah, experience local food and markets, visit cultural and natural attractions, and learn more about life in Borneo.

Ultimately, we hope Workawayers leave with a better understanding of Malaysian and international cultures, new friendships from around the world, improved communication skills, and a memorable experience of living and interacting with the local community.

Our Workaway program is designed specifically around cultural exchange, language practice, classroom support, and interaction with our local team and international students.

Depending on their interests, experience, and the needs of the school, Workawayers may:

Assist our local English teachers during lessons and classroom activities
Help students practise conversational English in small groups or informal activities
Participate in English conversation sessions and language-exchange activities
Support teachers with classroom preparation, games, activities, and educational materials
Share aspects of their own language, culture, country, and experiences with our students
Take part in cultural exchange activities with students and local staff
Assist with supervised school activities and student events
Support our teachers and staff with suitable non-teaching activities around the centre

All classroom activities involving Workawayers are supervised and supported by our local teaching staff. Workawayers are there to add an international and cultural dimension to our students' learning experience, while also gaining an opportunity to experience Malaysian culture and life in Sabah.

We believe this creates a genuine two-way cultural exchange: our students have the opportunity to meet people from different countries and practise English with international visitors, while Workawayers can experience life in Borneo, meet local people, learn about Malaysian culture, and develop their own communication and intercultural skills.
