Kia ora, we are - Jared & Krista, plus three little ones (4, 2 and 3 months). We are a Christian family who loves surfing, the beach, sunshine, being active and connecting with people.

We live in beautiful Arataki, Mount Maunganui and our home is a short walk to the beach, to Baywave pools and gym, as well as Bayfair shopping centre. It is a wonderful location to live with lots of fun things to do in the area.

Jared is New Zealand Māori born and bred with many connections in New Zealand. Krista is originally from the USA. We both love travelling (although in this stage of life with little ones it doesn't happen as much!), meeting people and doing life with others to learn and grow.

We are keen surfers and love seeing others learn to surf and enjoy the ocean.

Jared and Krista both work at a charity which does surf therapy with high-risk young men. There might be opportunities to see this work in action or come along to the charity's events.

    Help

We are looking for someone to help with childcare, light housework, meal prep, etc. during the week. Life with three little ones is full so the days would be flexible depending on what the needs are. Some days it might be taking the kids to the park while Krista prepares dinner. Other days it could be cleaning up after dinner while the kids are being put to bed. Other times it might be having a spa with the two older kids while mum and dad clean up or put the baby down! Another set of hands will be much appreciated at those busy times of the day.

At times you might be watching the children on your own for short times, however majority of the time you would be supporting the flow of homelife and the demands that go along with it to keep things as smooth as possible!

    Accommodation

On our property, we have a little self-contained furnished unit which has previously been Air BnB accommodation. It has a king size bed, a TV, small fridge-freeze and everything you need for day-to-day living.

The unit has its own bathroom/toilet/shower and kitchenette. You would have your own space to hang out and sleep away from the home but be on the property. You would be able to use our washing machine as needed.

Meals included would be dinner every evening, with arrangements around other food and meals to be discussed and confirmed.

Ideally, we are looking for someone reliable who can slide in with our family for a few months, align with our values and add to our "village".

Someone who: is naturally nurturing, calm and great with kids and babies; can easily be silly and play with little ones to connect; is responsible, clean and tidy and can cook basic meals; and enjoys a healthy, active, smoke-free and drug-free lifestyle.

Our place in Arataki has a bus stop two doors down, as well as Bayfair Shopping Centre (10 minute walk) which is a central bus depot for all Tauranga busses.

We have one old kitty cat and one rabbit so someone who doesn't mind animals is great.
