    Description

We are an Eco-Adventure Lodge nestled at the edge of the jungle, just steps from the beach. Our remote location offers guests the opportunity to truly get away.

We strive to be as low-impact as possible in an effort to conserve our natural world by carefully weighing the environmental impact of every decision we make, from the supply chain of our food, to the electricity that powers the resort.

We believe the most important tenet of ecotourism is having a positive impact on local communities. Salt Creek (Quebrada Sal) is a Ngäbe-Buglé indigenous village located 30 minutes by foot from our place. Salt Creek is one of the largest and most remote Ngäbe villages in the Bocas del Toro archipelago. Our team of 22 full time staff members support approximately 250 family members. We frequently look for ways to support our local community and work in partnership with them to achieve community goals.

Our current community project is supporting the build out of a 2 story medical clinic. This will be the first medical clinic Salt Creek ever has.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Our team is a lovely group of 22 from an indigenous community on the Island of Bastimentos.

You will get to interact with the local team while they are at work, and also share time with them in their community. We can teach you new skills, help you practice your Spanish and learn about eco-tourism.

Workaway folks will receive free lodging, meals and will be able to go on many local excursions.

The below are examples of collaboration opportunities. With each of the below opportunities, we will pair you with an apprentice who you can teach your craft to. The goal of our workaway is to bring in folks with specialized skills who can train on their specialized skill, and in turn receive a cultural and language exchange.

    YOGA:
    -host twice daily yoga classes.

    PROFESSIONAL BARTENDER TRAINING:
-We have two bartenders from our local community. I am hoping to get them training from a professional bartender; Trained on service standards, drink recipes, and help with a creating new cocktail menu.

    CHEF TRAINING:
-Professional (trained and with significant experience) chef to help rework our menu and elevate our menu offerings. We are not looking for someone to help prepare food. But a serious chef, who could help create new dishes, and train and develop our talented cooks.

    PERMACULTURE:
-Help us design a food forest at our eco-lodge.

    PLUMBER/ELECTRICIAN/BOAT MECHANIC:
-We are always seeking tradesmen to share knowledge and do troubleshooting *lessons* with our local maintenance team.

AND MUCH MORE! If you have an idea, drop us a line. Let's see if we can make something work.

IF YOU SEND A MESSAGE, PLEASE INCLUDE WHAT YOUR RELEVANT EXPERIENCE IS, AND ANY CERTIFICATIONS OR TRAINING YOU MAY HAVE.

***Due to the high volume of messages, please forgive us if we don't give a timely response***. THANK YOU.
