    Description

    YEAH!
We’re getting married this year — yes, I’m marrying my first love from when I was just 12 years old… 53 years later! Now my fiancé and I are sharing the Workaway lifestyle together, welcoming people from around the world into our home and community.
Some may already know my story. Before becoming a widow in 2021, I cared for my husband at home for many years. Through that journey, and with the support of wonderful Workawayers, I became a national advocate for carers, dementia support, chronic pain sufferers, and community

Today, I continue this work through The Ronald Frank Thomas Foundation and our CHECKLIST for Carers initiative, which is now being rolled out nationally.
Im also involved in many community and sustainability projects, including:
    • Supporting an orphanage in Myanmar through recycling initiatives
    • Creating games for Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoeboxes
    • Serving community meals every Tuesday evening
    • Making 500 sandwiches for struggling school families
    • Learning and sharing skills in worm farming, growing edibles, homesteading, Foodbank support, and Pay-It-Forward projects

Life here is full, meaningful, and sometimes delightfully chaotic!
When I’m not advocating or volunteering, I enjoy Uno, Rummikub, 5 Crowns, Skip-Bo, SkyJo, Scrabble, painting, Texas Hold’em, movies, games nights, writing while walking around the lake, chasing waterfalls, and snorkelling — balanced, of course, with resting when exhaustion catches up with me.

Friends describe me as warm-hearted, kind, honest, a good hugger, and someone who values genuine conversation and connection. Cooking is fairly basic, but I promise you won’t go hungry. :) I love that so many workaways have left their stamp on our home and in our hearts.

We love people who are willing to share their skills, stories, and culture. Whatever your talent may be, we’re sure it can make a difference here in our home and wider community.
    If you:
    • enjoy meaningful exchange
    • are flexible and proactive
    • can work both independently and as part of a team
    • must love cats and dogs
    • are an early riser
    • and want to make a positive impact…
…then this could be the perfect place for you.
So, whaddaya say? Gidday, gidday! Drop us a line, tell us about your skills and interests, and let’s see if we’re a match. Your welcoming room is waiting.
NOTE: We are especially be looking for a flexible and supportive team during September in both Sydney and Newcastle to help with wedding preparations and celebrations.

I’m about ten years old now I’m vocal and make sure the house is run on time like my feeds at 8am and 5pm, I love being brushed, I bring dried flowers every day run as a sign of love and attention But you have to be very careful as occasionally some of the sticks and leaves are in fact stick insects so look carefully before sweeping And need to be relocated to garden I’m Elly I think I’m a dog, I love to roll in the dirt or grass on my escape days , I was a rescue cat dumped at Macdonalds started my career early as a therapy cat for palliative, rehab and dementia patients , I love pats but not as much as Buttons
