Description
Enjoy huge uplifting views of the whole north Kona coast with an abundance of sunny days and dolphins swimming by to say good morning.
Couples, campers, and those who recharge in solitude are happier here. It can get rugged with dramatic weather: big winds, sideways rains, or intense dry heat in the middle of the day. If you visit, you will experience dust, thorny trees, and visits from critters of all descriptions.
Work can be an opportunity to be focused and aware, come prepared to learn by doing.
Hopefully, you would enjoy our spiritual library, and conversations about the meaning and purpose of life, and the organizing principles that govern all of creation and manifestation.
We visit an abundance of nearby farmers' markets and seek out chances to dance and sing, and cultural and educational events. We hope you have an open heart to join. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Joshua is born and raised here on Big Island and has deep roots. If you are sincere about a cultural exchange you can learn a lot from him about the values of Aloha. Josh loves to play music in the evening or do random things like share a meal, play chess, or talk about science and mitochondria.
Anneka has a counseling background including spiritual healing. We are both Tao Healing Hands Practitioners and lifelong learners constantly exploring new interests.
Overall we are content with the simple things of life and hope you would be also. -
Help
These days we could really do with helpers who are natural sorters and organizers. In general, tasks are pretty simple and include housekeeping, landscaping or animal care.

Accommodation
We have a queen sized bed in a rustic cabana with gorgeous views and no electricity. We also have beds and sofas on a covered lanai, plus an outdoor kitchen and electrical outlets. Our family members randomly drop off avocados, oranges or bananas. There are staples such as oil and spices, oatmeal, rice, and quinoa available for guests.
Please be prepared to nourish yourself and fill in with your preferred vegetables and snack foods. There are tasty meals from the farmer's markets or during a road trip adventure across the island. -
What else ...
There is a busy rural road close by and a mini-mall about two blocks from here with shops and restaurants. Two buses daily.
Timely, clear and consistent communication is key. We do pre-interviews to make sure we are a good fit. Your best reference is always an open heart. Thanks for reading and all the best on all your journeys. -

It was a dream come true for us to come to Hawaii as volunteers, to save enough to get here, stay for a while, connect with the locals, share their daily lives, and contribute something. But that dream vanished overnight. You become physically and mentally … read more
