Description
We're looking for someone(s) responsible and caring to mind our home and pooches from roughly February 5 to March 9 2026.
Hi! Our names are Margaret and Dan and we live in the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny. The house is located in the city centre - easily accessible by train, bus, and walking. We have bikes at the house as well, so there's no need for a car to enjoy the city and the rest of Ireland. Dublin is 1.5 hours by train.
The house has a big garden, which the dogs love, and has tables and seating if you'd like to dine al fresco. The house has all the mod-cons you could ask for as it's been recently renovated (3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom).
There are amazing bars, restaurants, coffee shops, yoga studios, gyms, libraries, and public facilities available within minutes of the house. Kilkenny has a really vibrant and bustling scene both during the day and evenings. It's a safe city too!
We live with 2 dogs - Oscar and Millie who are great low-maintenance dogs. Well, Millie is a very well behaved collie whose only vices are pulling on the lead *a little bit* and barking at the door when people are home. Otherwise, she's a happy, smart, obedient girl who loves a long walk. Oscar is a classic silly, bold, snuffley french bulldog who excels at cuddling and sleeping. Oscar's vices are that he must be on a lead at all times, as he has bad manners when meeting new dogs. He'll pull on the lead, and bark loudly at passing dogs. We're working on it, but he's a work in progress.

Kilkenny has a great social scene with live music, classes, and gigs. Check out the Set Theatre and/or the Kilkenny Library for what's on in the city. There's something for everyone and we'd be happy to point you in the right direction!

3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom house with a large garden.
The house will be heated and hot water is always available.
Rubbish is stored in bins in the garden, we'll take care of disposal. Compost is in the garden behind the back shed.

Ideally, we're looking for someone to walk and feed the dogs on a daily basis. We're only offering accommodation, not food.

Internet access

Limited internet access

We have pets

We are smokers

Can host families

Can host digital nomads
There's a dedicated office space in one of the bedrooms and high-speed wifi. We work from home and there's no issues! Also, the local library is nearby as well as a "we-work" type place if you like a change of scenery.

Can possibly accept pets
If you're bringing your pets, you need to be advised that Oscar is aggressive towards new dogs at the start. After a few meetings, he should be fine but there's a possibility it might not work out. Let's chat about this if you're considering our home!
