  • Description

    Description

We live in a 100 year old Finca between two small towns, Monda and Guaro, near Malaga and the coastline around Marbella. Our kids are 8 and 12 years old and we speak English at home, as Rob is from Canada and Henriette is Danish.

Our property is 1.1 hectare (2.7 acres) consisting of almond and olive trees, and depending on the season we also have mangos, avocados, kiwis, oranges, lemons, figs, vegetables in the garden and even some chickens and a peacock.

We are just finished renovating the house but always have projects to do. There is lots of painting to be done, and right now we are rebuilding the pavillion at the top of the property. Gardening is always needed or if you love to cook, we love to eat :-). Also Danny and Emily, who came here as workawayers, are now stationed in their campervan at the bottom of the property and working on a big building project - they can always use a hand.

In one end of the house we have two guest rooms and a bathroom, which is where you would stay. We also have a cool bell-tent, with propper beds inside, if you prefer to stay in nature.

You will be here in sunny Spain surrounded by beautiful nature. Our household language is English, but if you venture into the local villages you will have plenty of opportunity to practice your Spanish.

  • Help

    Help

We welcome anyone enthusiastic and willing to help wherever needed - for example painting inside and out, gardening etc. Also, if you have a talent in the kitchen and can make great meals, this is very welcome! We are slowly moving to a plant based diet, however as a family, we still eat most everything.

In one end of our house we have 2 guest rooms with 2 double beds and a newly renovated bathroom. This is where you would stay. Food will be provided and you will make your own breakfast and lunch. Dinner we generally have together and who cooks it, we can figure out as we go along. If you have skills in the kitchen this is welcome and we count this as part of your time for helping around the house and property.
We also have a cool bell-tent with two propper single beds inside.

It is a 1km walk into the nearest small village, Guaro, and 3kms to Monda. There are regular busses to Marbella, which is half an hour drive away. From there you can get to anywhere on the coast, so lots to explore in your time off!
