Description
We live in a 100 year old Finca between two small towns, Monda and Guaro, near Malaga and the coastline around Marbella. Our kids are 12 and 16 years old and we speak English at home, as Rob is from Canada and Henriette is Danish.
Our property is 1.1 hectare (2.7 acres) consisting of almond and olive trees, and depending on the season we also have mangos, avocados, kiwis, oranges, lemons, figs, vegetables in the garden. We have 2 cats, Lucky and Mittens.
There is always gardening to be done, plenty of painting and other types of work around the property. If you are good at DIY projects or fixing things, this is a great asset and a skill set we always need. Alternately, if you love to cook, we love to eat :-). Also, Danny and Emily, who came here as workaway volunteers nearly 5 years ago, are now living in a small house on our property - they can always use a hand.
We have two guest rooms for you with a double bed in each. There is a nice bathroom in your area of the house that is communal, which tends to be mostly yours, as there are other bathrooms in the house.Types of help and learning opportunities

You will be here in sunny Spain surrounded by beautiful nature. Our household language is English, but if you venture into the local villages you will have plenty of opportunity to practice your Spanish.

Help
We welcome anyone enthusiastic and willing to help wherever needed - for example painting inside and out, gardening etc. Also, if you have a talent in the kitchen and can make great meals, this is very welcome! We are slowly moving to a plant based diet, however as a family, we still eat most everything.

In one end of our house we have two guest rooms with a renovated bathroom. This is where you would stay. Food will be provided and you will make your own breakfast and lunch. Dinner we generally have together and who cooks it, we can figure out as we go along. If you have skills in the kitchen this is welcome and we count this as part of your time for helping around the house and property.
What else ...
It is a 1km walk into the nearest small village, Guaro, and 3kms to Monda. There are regular busses to Marbella, which is half an hour drive away. From there you can get to anywhere on the coast, so lots to explore in your time off!
