    Description

We have a semi rural property in the Oxford township. We like to grow most of our own food and raise our own cattle. When we can we like help those in need.
The Oxford area offers great day walks (and longer ones too), beautiful rivers and local's only knowledge on the good swimming holes. We are a couple of kayak enthusiasts (with spare kayaks) and we are animal friendly/lovers and have 3 dogs that are ferociously affectionate ;). We are relatively close to Christchurch city and Rangiora. Oxford is a great place to use as a base to visit the West Coast too.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We have farming, soil health and gardening, building and mechanic skills we can share. We are happy to cook for you or you can use a separate facility of your own.
We are always open to learning new ways/approaches to task to help build efficiency. Hopefully a second pair of hands means a job is halved.

We would love a bit of support in the garden, the odd bit of yard work, and maybe a bit of painting. A hammer-hand is always helpful and so is a bit of initiative and can do attitude. We will likely be sharing skills along the way and learning from each other.

We can provide you with food and you can either dine with us or choose to cook for yourself.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We are flexible and will do what we can to accommodate your travel arrangements and your modes of transport.
We have loads of experience and advice for those that are interested in the outdoors and exploring this country.
House rules? Just be tidy, happy and respectful of one another.
We find it very difficult to cater to vegetarians and those with special dietary requirements.

We have 3 dogs, they are friendly, but understandably, this is their territory. However, if you have a socialised dog, a gentle introduction and a bit of time might be OK.
