  Olive harvest 2026.
  
  The olive trees are exceptionally full. Unfortunately, I had an accident this summer, so I'm not quite back to full health yet, which is why I'm looking for some energetic help. We live in the Pisan mountains of Calci-Montemagno and would be delighted to find some friendly people who are ready to lend a hand. Normally, my children and friends help me, but my children are also very busy, and there's also a grandson who plays sports on weekends, so time for the harvest is limited. This year looks like a very good harvest, so we need to be quick. Harvest time is always a special time; it's pleasantly warm, but not too hot—just right, actually. Yes, olive oil is such a wonderful extract that offers so much health. We love the oil, the harvest, and autumn, when there's a very special, magical atmosphere in Montemagno. We've lived in Montemagno for 30 years and have never regretted moving here. We live quite far from the rest of the world, but we can reach Calci in 15 minutes and Pisa in half an hour. From there, you can quickly get on the motorway, by train, or by plane. We can see the sea from the mountain.

  Die Olivenbäume sind außergewöhnlich voll.Leider hatte ich einen Unfall im Sommer, sodass ich noch nicht wirklich fit bin, deshalb suche ich tatkräftige Unterstützung. Wir leben in den pisanischen Bergen Calci- Montemagno und würden uns über nette Menschen freuen die gut anpacken können. Normalerweise helfen mir meine Kinder und Freunde, aber meine Kinder haben auch sehr viel zu tun,da gibt's auch noch einen Enkel der am Wochenende Sport macht,ja da begrenzt sich die Zeit für die Ernte. Dieses Jahr sieht es nach einer sehr guten Ernte aus, da muss man schnell sein. Die Erntezeit ist immer eine besondere Zeit , es ist schön warm,aber nicht zu sehr , eigentlich genau richtig. Ja Olivenöl ist so ein wunderbarer Extrakt der soviel Gesundheit schenkt, wir lieben das Öl,die Ernte und die Herbstzeit, in der in Montemagno eine ganz besondere magische Stimmung herrscht. In Montemagno leben wir seit 30 Jahren und haben nie bereut hierher ausgewandert zu sein. Wir leben recht weit weg von der normalen Welt entfernt, sind aber in 15 Minuten in Calci und in einer halben Stunde in Pisa von da aus ist man schnell auf der Autobahn,im Zug oder im Flugzeug . Wir sehen vom Berg das Meer.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We live in the beautiful little village of Montemagno, not far from Pisa, Lucca, or Florence. My husband, Giuseppe Donnaloia, is a painter and sculptor, and a professor of sculpture techniques. We have a studio in the olive grove and another (the old theater) in the village. Cultural exchange is in our DNA and is definitely a part of our lives! But we are also very excited to meet new and interesting people, and we would especially enjoy cultural exchange!
  
  Wir leben in den kleinen wunderschönen Dorf Montemagno nicht weit von Pisa , Lucca oder Florenz. Mein Mann Giuseppe Donnaloia ist Maler und Bildhauer und Professor für Bildhauer Techniken.Wir haben ein Atelier im Olivenhain und eines (das alte Theater) im Dorf. Kultureller Austausch liegt in unserem DNA und ist auf jeden Fall gegeben!!! Aber wir sind auch sehr gespannt neue interessante Menschen kennen zu lernen und auf kulturellen Austausch würden wir uns besonders freuen!

  Help

  Harvest helpers – the tasks usually sort themselves out. For the small harvesting machine – you need to be fit in your arms and shoulders. The nets have to be laid out under the trees in several rows so that no olives are lost and even those that fly further away are caught. The olives are gathered and sorted, meaning they are freed from twigs and leaves, packed into crates, and these are carried to the terrace. After a day or two of harvesting, they are taken to the press, and we hope for a good yield. This process is repeated until we're finished. We expect to be done in about three weeks. Of course, it helps us if guests can only stay for a week. I will be there the whole time, guiding and supporting you, and cooking regularly 😉😃😃
  
  Erntehelfer, meist ergeben sich die Aufgaben von alleine. Für die kleine Erntemaschine, man muss fit sein in den Armen und Schultern. Unter den Bäumen müssen die Netze ausgelegt werden in mehreren Bahnen , so daß man keine Oliven verliert und auch die, die weiter fliegen, einfängt. Die Oliven werden zusammen getragen und sortiert,d.h von Zweigen und Blättern befreit, in Kisten gepackt und diese werden zur Terrasse getragen. Nach ein zwei Tagen ernten werden sie zur Presse getragen und hofft auf einen guten Ertrag. Dieser Vorgang wiederholt sich bis man fertig ist. Wir gehen davon aus dass wir in circa drei Wochen fertig sind. Natürlich hilft es uns auch wenn Gäste nur eine Woche können. Ich werde die ganze Zeit dabei sein und euch anleiten und unterstützen, und immer wieder kochen 😉😃😃

  Accommodation

  There are guest rooms at the house, and plenty of space for camping. Of course, you can use the shared refrigerator. We will offer meals three times a day: breakfast in the morning, pasta for lunch, and a barbecue in the evening.
  
  Gästezimmer am Haus,auch zum Zelten gibt es viel Platz. Natürlich kann man den gemeinsamen Kühlschrank benutzen. Wir werden dreimal am Tag essen anbieten. Morgens Frühstück, mittags zb. Pasta Abends zb.grillen .

  Bus stop in Montemagno for Calci or Pisa, from there you can go anywhere. The Certosa di Calci is definitely worth seeing. We place great value on friendly, calm, and respectful interaction.
