  Description

  Ciao! This is Silvia & Davide. We are the custodians of 3 hectares of land in Padru, a small village 20kms south of Olbia. We are surrounded by mountains and 20 mins from the beaches.
  The view from our place is beautiful, is sits right on top of a valley from where you can see the main village (although it is 5 kms away) surrounded by woodlands and mountains.
  It is alway very peaceful and quiet here, we are pretty isolated.
  Nature is really wild here and it is all around us, it's possible to take long hikes to the mountains, swim in rivers, see waterfalls, and there are plenty of wild animals.
  
  We are originally from Venice but have travelled for many years (we have been workawayers too) and decided to move to Sardinia 6 years ago..we have been on this land for 5 years.
  Our main objective is being self-sufficient and so far we have invested all our energy in building our house, our solar powered electricity grid and water supply which comes from a well in our land. The water is drinkable.
  There is also a river here with water flowing only in winter.
  We are also very passionate about land regeneration, part of the land was used as sheep pasture before we bought it and was very degraded but we now have a big and fertile veggie garden and lots of fruit trees (small ones) and most of the food we eat comes from there.
  We usually don't eat any animal products and that's also the reason why we don't keep animals here, except for 3 cats.
  We are working towards being more and more self-sufficient and sustainable in every aspect of our life, although we are aware that in order to achieve that you need a community around you. We make our own soaps, cleaning products, candles.
  
  We are also musicians and spend a large part of our time travelling around the island to play music at events so sometimes you may be on the farm alone as we need somebody to take care of it while we are away.

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  Here you'll be able to enjoy walks in the woods and/or mountains, see waterfalls and swim in the rivers (if you can stand the cold)( and if you have your own vehicle).
  We are also very open to teach you anything we know about sustainable living, land regeneration, living off the grid, agriculture, agroforestry and we'd be very happy to listen to what you have to teach us too 😉

  Help

  All kinds of farm help. In autumn we are mostly busy planting lots of trees and plants of all kinds. Some occasional DIY tasks too.
  We enjoy being with people who are artistically driven and creative and we love being surrounded by beauty so if this is you, we would be happy to give you the space to express your art.
  You will need to be comfortable being on your own as we often have to leave the farm for a day or two (or even more) because of our job, so we are looking for people who are independent and that enjoy time spent in nature and solitude (Also keep in mind that this happens more in summer and spring, the rest of the year we are mainly here, working on the farm).
  We are also pretty isolated as we already mentioned so ***we prefer to host people who can come with their own vehicle***. Without it is very hard to go to town or enjoy the natural beauty this place has to offer.

  Accommodation

  We can offer two types of accommodation depending of the time of the year and availability: One is a caravan tucked into a wooden shelter, with its own little kitchen and a small sitting area to relax and enjoy the view. The other option is to sleep in a tent (We have big, tall and comfy camping tents).
  We prefer to have guests who enjoy living simply and are not too fussy about living in the wild without too much comfort.
  Be aware that the shower is outside but it has hot water most of the time and we use it almost all-year round.
  
  We love to share our life with people but we also like to have a little space during the day to be still and recharge our batteries.
  On a typical day we would have lunch together after work but we usually prefer to have dinner separately.

  What else ...

  There are plenty of things to see around here, the main city Olbia is just a 20 mins drive away.
  Public transport is not so organized here although it is possible to reach our village by bus from Olbia and back.
  If you have your own vehicle then it would be possible to visit some of the best beaches in the island, only 20 minutes away by car.
  There are also many naturalistic sites like freshwater pools and natural parks very near.
