Description
The House has been a mill since 1730. We laid out a garden between ruins of the former mill (I published a book about it) In the outhouse is my studio and some art on show for art lovers. We have all meals together, I cook, so you are pampered. My eldest daughter lives in a cottage at the end of the woodland garden where also is a unique millpond in huge walls. The river is flowing on one the side of the garden and a pool where water is cleaned by reetbeds in a ruin. We work in the garden from 9 - 1.30. Then off to explore the nice area with the Greenway around the corner, sea, mountains and city of Waterford nearby.

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
I speak 4 languages, while having meals ( I cook) there s a lot of chatting and exchange of details, we learn from each other.
Workawayers could learn about language, Irish culture If interesting in art I can advise them(as a former teacher of academy) I can teach them about plants, gardening, food. During summer there are peole coming in to see the art gallery and rarely two or three times a small group, visiting the garden. As garden is laid out between ruins of an old mill, people who had family working here in the past would like to see and hear the history. But it s actually a private garden and so is the woodland area. For twenty taers I have students here during summer helping with work in garden and woodland, but it might be nice to do so also in connection with workaway. There also is a volonteer from Waterford helping here all year. -

The work mainly took place in the garden from 9am to 1pm, with a tea break around 11am. The garden is really lovely and it was pleasant to work outside in such a nice environment.
