Description
Hi there :)
My name is Steph (29) and I'm having a birthday party and May and need two handy or creative people to help prepare the space for the fun. It’s a mix of creative projects and some outdoor work or cleaning work, nothing too hectic, but it’ll be a little dusty, fun, and you'll get to enjoy some time in the aussie bush.
We have lots of horses, 2 very cute mini fox terriers, and a shy cat that you might see around.
Here’s the kind of stuff we’ll be doing, if something on the list calls your name let me know! I love to be creative and make things, so a lot of this will be done from stuff we already have around. For example, connecting old cds together to make a shinny decor wall, making paper mache cactus. However, our first step will be to clean up the shed :)
Creative Projects:
* Painting some old chairs, stools, and logs, decor.
* Setting up canvas for guests to contribute to a mural so please bring your creativity!
* Building some fun props from repurposed materials/scraps
* Repainting some of the props we’ve already got to get them party-ready.
Outdoor Prep Work:
* Clearing out an old shed—dusting, stacking some furniture, and giving it a good hose-down so it’s fresh and ready to go.
* Tidying up the area, picking up sticks, moving old bricks, clearing leaves, and making it look party-ready.
* Shifting a few heavier items (nothing crazy, just bring some energy).
You’ll get a cosy place to stay, home cooked dinners, and heaps of time to chill or explore when you're not working. We also have a swimming pool that you're free to use, and are always up for a game of cornhole or petanque.
The property is about 200 acres, and there are about 20 horses on the property too, you'll have plenty of down to relax, read/work online, or do as your heart desires.
Minimum stay is 5 days but if you like it here, there's potential for other projects to work on. And of course, you'll be welcome to come to the party in May :)
I am also learning French after doing a Workaway in France last year, so I would be happy to practice my terrible French with you. I'm also into yoga, crocheting, snorkelling, tarot reading. Sharon is an artist and does a lot of painting in her free time.Types of help and learning opportunities

Staying at our property is a chance to experience the aussie bush. There are even a couple (20ish) friendly horses on the property to keep you company and add to the charm of your stay. We're always keen to share dinners together and happy to welcome you to our home :)
We are an (almost) completely off-grid property, with a small veggie garden, and loads of horses. We'd be happy to share what we know about rural living or horses. Sharon is a fantastic cook and loves to make Texas BBQ so can teach you a thing or two about american cooking. I am also learning to read tarot, so would can read your cards if you want!Help
Looking for easygoing & self-motivated friends or a couple who want to spend time in the aussie bush while helping prepare the property for a party later in the year. You're also welcome to come back for the party in May when we have it!
This is a gig that's perfect for those are handy or creative or don't mind getting a little dusty while clearing out the shed.Languages

We'd be happy to help with your English, and I am also learning French after doing a Workaway in France last year, so I would be very happy to practice my terrible French with you. Paul and Sharon worked in Germany for a few years, and speak a little German.Accommodation
You’ll be staying in self contained converted clubhouse. The space has everything you need for a comfortable stay and is about 50m away from the main house, so you'll have the privacy you need.
The accommodation features:
A newly renovated and private bathroom
A fireplace to keep you cozy when its cold.
A well equipped kitchen area so you can prepare your own breakfast and lunch.
High speed internet
A dining area and patio overlooking a beautiful vineyard.
While you’ll have your own space, we’d love to share dinners with you at the main house to connect, share stories, and unwind after the day’s work. It’s the perfect mix of independence and community close by to sydney. What else ...
Please note that the property is remote, so you’ll need your own transport to get out and about during your stay. The nearest train station is 45 minutes away, and we’re happy to pick you up from there if needed. However, having a car is essential if you’d like to explore the local area or come/go as you please.
We typically go into town once a week for groceries, so you’ll have a chance to stock up on anything you might need then or you can take your car.
This setup is ideal for a couple or two friends travelling together, as the peace and solitude can feel isolating if you’re on your own. Bring a buddy, and you’ll find it an amazing place to share quality time, both working and relaxing!A little more information
