Description
I'm an American living in Umbria, Italy near Lago Trasimeno, a beautiful area. My (Italian) husband and I bought this place at the end of 2024, and live here w/ our two dogs. He works alot as a physical therapist and psychotherapist. I'm semi-retired, but do some work as a real estate consultant, and am starting a little business to support people in finding properties for co-living and co-housing communities.
I'm seeking SOMEBODY WHO KNOWS PLANTS/TREES/VEGETABLE GARDENING to help with gardening and olive grove projects. There's too much to do by myself, and it's more fun with help! Maybe we'll paint the rusty gate, too, who knows?

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We're a small family w/ two sweet dogs, Yuma the 6 year old Weimaraner, and a recently adopted 8 year old Lagotto.
I'm open to occasionally sharing walks, chats & meals. But mostly it's an opportunity for somebody (or perhaps a couple) to immerse themselves in the peace of the countryside and help w/ gardening tasks. If you have a car --or atleast a bicycle--it would be best for getting around.
I'm an open and curious person, I love travel and meeting folks from all over. I love to cook ( I used to cook professionally), so happy to share some food/meals. I am very interested in brainstorming about forms of community living (cohousing, co-living, etc.) I'm about to start a business to help folks find properties in this area that are set up for groups of friends/family to live together.

Help
I am seeking somebody with gardening skills, who knows plants, trees, growing vegetables. I have basic skills, but I'm actually looking to learn. We would do some projects together, but I'm having some shoulder issues at the moment, so seeking strong folks who can do some of the more heavy lifting (moving cut tree branches to the burn pile, etc.)

Accommodation
We live in a beautiful spot out in the rolling hills with distant view of Lago Trasimeno. It is a relaxing place to simply be, walk, meditate, cook.
The large one-bedroom apartment where you'll stay is on the "piano terra." My husband and I live upstairs with two dogs, Yuma and Goku. There's a big bright living/dining/kitchen, and a bedroom with bath and office corner, and French doors to a private gravel terrace with table and chairs.
The large garden has olive, cherry and walnut trees, lavender, rosemary, bay laurel. On the other side of the house is the oliveto with 35 olive trees.
The closest hamlet of Gioiella is five minutes by car (50 minutes on foot), with a farmacia, bar/pizzeria, and mini market. It’s 10 minutes to Castiglione del Lago which not only has a charming historic center, but all the services including five grocery stores, etc. There is also the waterfront with cafes, restaurants, and ferry pier.
There are several charming historic villages within 15-40 minutes, such as Panicale, Paciano, Tuoro sul Trasimeno, Passignano sul Lago, Città della Pieve (Umbria), and Chiusi, Cetona, and Montepulciano (Tuscany). Cities like Perugia, Orvieto, and Arezzo are within an hour by car. Florence and Rome are just under 2 hours. Train service to these larger cities leaves from nearby Castiglione del Lago or Chiusi.
A favorite activity is to take a ferry to one of the islands in Lago Trasimeno.
What else ...
We're a quiet couple, and we love meeting folks from all over. You could see this as a personal retreat in a beautiful part of Umbria with the chance to share gardening skills. I'm more social than my husband Alessandro (--: If you're interested, let's set up a video call. (--:
