We are a young couple (25 and 26) with a little pug, Brigitte, and probably other animals to come. We love everyone, having fun, laugh, music, nature, self-sufficiency, animals, dance, sing, create, drink beer and wine, feminism, vegetarianism / veganism, work manually, learn , cook, deep conversations, connections, exchanges, food, board sports, water, yoga, ecology, plants, gardening, spirituality, LOVE ... and so much more! What we don't like is: working too much, capitalism and discrimination of all kinds. Apart from that, we are good people who have a passion for life and who exist quite simply and happily, in harmony with different living beings. Jérémi is a little guy from Lac-Saint-Jean, me from Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, both in Quebec. We met on Tinder (no taboos with us!) in Montreal, the city we have both lived in for the past 8 years. We loved the city, but we were dreaming since our four years together for one day buying a large lot to invite people, party, create memories, have babies and dogs cats goats cows that run free, live in community and manage to build a house with our own hands, reusing materials as much as possible. This is why we invite you to come and see us. Our dream came true this winter.We bought a 3 acre lot with an old house and a garage, bordered by a beautiful river, with no close neighbors in Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix, quite far from everything we know. We chose the place firstly because we were told that several people who look like us were starting to migrate there, but also because the area is beautiful (we don't know much about it either, let's discover it together) . We certainly need help to build the house on a daily basis; roofing, exterior cladding, windows, insulation, painting, plumbing, electricity ... in fact, almost everything needs to be redone on our house which dates from 1938 and which was abandoned in recent years. Note that we ourselves have no particular knowledge in construction, we read a lot of books and we watch tutorials on youtube. In short, we are just looking for people who are motivated to help us and who have a good vibe, nothing more, you come as you are, with the knowledge that you have, however minimal it may be. But for sure if you have constructions skills it's great ! Above all, we want to tell you that we are looking for people with whom to share wonderful moments and to exchange the life experience that we both have, pretty much like friends really ! The ideal would be to work a little (or more!) each day, but we often take days off just to relax and have fun, no pressure, we are really smooth. The goal would be for the house to be completely habitable by the end of the summer. We can't wait to meet you.
Nous sommes un jeune couple (25 et 26 ans) avec un petit carlin, Brigitte, et probablement d'autres animaux à venir. On aime tout le monde, s'amuser, rire, la musique, la nature, l'autosuffisance, les animaux, danser, chanter, créer, boire de la bière et du vin, le féminisme, végétarisme/véganisme, travailler manuellement, apprendre, cuisiner, les conversations profondes, les connexions, les échanges, la bouffe, les sports de planche, l'eau, le yoga, l'écologie, les plantes, le jardinage, la spiritualité, l'AMOUR... et tellement plus ! Ce qu'on n'aime pas c'est : travailler trop, le capitalisme et la discrimination de toute sorte. À part ça, on est du bon monde qui tripe sur la vie et qui existe bien simplement et joyeusement, en harmonie avec les différents être vivants. Jérémi c'est un petit gars du Lac-Saint-Jean, moi de Saint-Bruno-de-Montarville, les deux au Québec. On s'est rencontré sur Tinder (aucun tabou avec nous!) à Montréal, ville qu'on a habité les deux depuis ces 8 dernières années. On a adoré la ville, mais on cajolait depuis nos quatre années communes d'un jour acheter un grand terrain pour inviter en masse de monde, faire la fête, créer des souvenirs, avoir des bébés et des chiens chats chèvres vaches qui courent librement, vivre en communauté et s'arranger pour construire une maison de nos mains, en réutilisant au maximum les matériaux. C'est pourquoi on vous invite d'ailleurs à venir nous voir. Notre rêve s'est réalisé cet hiver. On a acheté un terrain de 3 âcres avec une vieille maison et un garage, bordée par une belle rivière, sans voisins proches à Saint-Paul-de-la-Croix, pas mal loin de tout ce qu'on connaît. On a choisi le lieu premièrement parce qu'on s'est fait dire que plusieurs personnes qui nous ressemblent commençaient à y migrer, mais aussi parce que le coin est magnifique (on ne le connaît pas beaucoup nous non plus, découvrons-le ensemble). On a certes besoin d'aide pour construire la maison quotidiennement ; toiture, revêtement extérieur, fenêtres, isolation, peinture, plomberie, électricité... en fait, presque tout est à refaire sur notre maison qui date de 1938 et qui fût abandonnée ces dernières années. Sachez que nous-mêmes n'ayant pas de connaissances particulières dans la construction, on lit pas mal de livres et on regarde des tutoriels sur youtube. Bref, on recherche juste des gens motivés à nous aider et qui ont un bon ''vibe'', rien de plus, tu viens comme tu es, avec les connaissances que tu as, aussi minimes soit-elles. Bien sûr, si tu as des connaissances en construction, on sera très contents ! Avant tout, on veut te dire qu'on cherche surtout des gens avec qui partager des merveilleux moments et chacun s'échanger l'expérience de vie qu'on a, des ami-es quoi ! L'idéal serait de travailler un peu (ou plus!) chaque jour, mais on prend souvent des jours de congés juste pour relaxer et avoir du plaisir, aucune pression, on est vraiment ''smooth''. L'objectif serait qu'à la fin de l'été la maison soit complètement habitable. On a très hâte de vous rencontrez.

Our native language is French, so definitely if you want to learn it that's a bonus. If not, for anyone who wants to live in a good living environment, with open-minded and sensitive people. A very important aspect would also be the space in which the house is located; we are near the Fleuve Saint-Laurent, with our beautiful river, endless forest. Wonderful place for people who want to learn about self-sufficiency, minimalism and a sense of community. Near here, there are also several beautiful national parks (Témiscouata, le Bic). We are also only a few hours from Gaspésie, one of the top places in Quebec, so home can be a good stop before heading there.
Notre langue maternelle est le français, donc définitivement si vous voulez l'apprendre, c'est un bonus. Si non, pour n'importe qui qui souhaite côtoyer un milieu de vie où il fait bon vivre, avec des gens ouverts d'esprit et sensibles. Un aspect très important aussi serait l'espace dans lequel se trouve la maison; nous sommes près du Fleuve Saint-Laurent, avec notre belle rivière, de la forêt à n'en plus finir. Endroit merveilleux pour les gens qui veulent apprendre sur l'autosuffisance, le minimalisme et le sentiment de communauté. Près d'ici, il y a aussi plusieurs beaux parcs nationaux (Témiscouata, le Bic). Nous sommes aussi seulement à quelques heures de la Gaspésie, lieu très primé au Québec, donc chez nous peut être un bon arrêt avant de s'y rendre.

Accommodation
The house is not finished, there are no separate bedrooms. We could therefore welcome people inside and put curtains to define rooms. Ideally people can sleep in tents on our large lot. There is also an old tent trailer that can be refurbished. As for the shower, we will probably not have running water this summer, but we will install a shower outside and depending on the work in progress, there will be a shower inside the house as well. . There will also be a pit toilet outside. There will be a large kitchen in the house that everyone can use, we would like to eat together as much as possible. We are open to proposals, we will adjust as needed to the best of our ability, but we must expect to live in a minimalist way, with the resources of nature.
La maison n'est pas finie, il n'y a pas de chambres séparées. On pourrait donc accueillir des gens à l'intérieur et se mettre des rideaux pour définir des chambres. Idéalement les gens peuvent dormir dans des tentes sur notre grand terrain. Il y a aussi une vieille tente-roulotte qu'on pourra remettre à neuf. Pour ce qui est de la douche, nous n'aurons probablement pas l'eau courante cet été, mais nous installerons une douche à l'extérieure et dépendant des travaux qui avancent, il y aura une douche à l'intérieur de la maison aussi. Il y aura aussi une toilette sèche à l'extérieur. Il y aura aussi dans la maison la grande cuisine que tous pourront utiliser, nous aimerions le plus possible manger tous ensemble. Nous sommes ouverts aux propositions, nous allons nous ajuster selon les besoins au meilleur de notre possible, mais il faut s'attendre à vivre de façon minimaliste, avec les ressources de la nature.
What else ...
We can lend bikes to explore, carpooling, we will often go to the beach together, do lots of art, sports or other activities. We also really like to just chill around a fire. We love community life very much, but we love having our moments alone and absolutely respect the privacy of others, we expect others to do the same. Therefore, what the guests want to do in their free time is entirely up to them!
On pourra prêter des vélos pour se promener et explorer, faire du co-voiturage, on ira souvent à la plage tous ensemble, faire pleins d'activités d'art ou sportive ou autres, et on aime aussi beaucoup relaxer autour d'un feu. Nous aimons beaucoup la vie communautaire, mais nous aimons avoir nos moments seuls et respectons absolument la vie privée des autres, nous nous attendons que les autres fassent de même. De ce fait, ce que les invités désirent faire pendant leur temps-libre les regarde entièrement !
