Description
My husband Bernd (55) and I (51) run a small cattle farm near Göttingen.
When I first read about volunteering I was immediately interested. We used to have a house full of young people. Since two of our three daughters (28,27,19) have moved out I miss the hustle and bustle, the company and their helping hands.

We are now 65 and 62 and looking back at 14 years with great experiences with workaway!
I neglected my workaway account due to health issues an then because of the Corona situation. That´s why my reply rate is low. -

We speak a very proper German because in this area is no typical idiom spoken.
During spring I can teach you to cook witn socalled "weeds", like nettles, goutweed, dandelion and so on.
If you are interested in self-sufficiency, you may help with butchering chickens or pig in fall -

Help
I am looking for helpers from mid-April till mid-May for planting and seeding vegetables and flowers for both, my self-service flower field and a vegetable field where I rent small allotments to other people
During summer there will be weeding, harvesting and preserving fruits and vegetables, helping with fencing, feeding, general farmwork or housework
Besides, there is always something to do like tidying up sheds, cleaning, some painting and so on.
In general, the work schedule depends on the weather, but no more than roundabout 25 hours/week. -

Accommodation
We offer a seperate room, separate bathroom, all meals together with the family.
We don´t expect you to cook meals (but if you really like to, it´a differentnt thing :-) ), but I´d like you to share some recipes from your country.
Smoking is allowed only outside, -
What else ...
The landscape here is very nice and there are paths for walking and cycling (a bike is provided).
However, we live in a rural area and there are no shops and pubs within walking distance which is why I prefer hosting couples or friends to give boredom no chance.
On Tuesdays my husband can take you to Göttingen, the nearest town, for sightseeing and shopping. -

Two easy going guys with experience in manual labour helped us with weeding, painting, repairing a concrete floor, repairing fences and with the cattle in general
It was nice having them around.
Not only that she is very easygoing, busy and acting on own initiative but it also is a pleasure hosting someone who shares all your own interests (and having the relavant skills) as gardening, cooking/baking and the love for animals esp. cows.
