  • Description

    Description

We are a semi-retired couple in our mid-fifties, living with two friendly puppies on our 40ha property on the Eastern Dorrigo plateau, 35 minutes inland from the city of Coffs Harbour on the NSW Mid-North Coast. Around 95 per cent of the property is recovering wet sclerophyll forest with an abundance of native flora and fauna. We are applying permaculture principles to the remaining 2ha, on which we have a mix of established and developing fruit trees, several vegetable gardens, two bee hives, and chickens and ducks that supply us with fresh eggs.

The main attraction of a stay here is its proximity to nature, with the opportunity to see and hear a variety of Australian animals in their natural habitat, including wallabies, pademelons, potoroos, bandicoots, black cockatoos, microbats, frogs of numerous kinds, and (if lucky) an echidna or koala.

We live amidst or near a number of national parks, not least the Dorrigo and Bindarri National Parks, which boast unique unspoilt natural environments. A little over half-an-hour away by car is a variety of beautiful local beaches, ideal for swimming, surfing and sunbathing.
