Description
We are a German-Filipino family who has called the Philippines home for over 14 years.
Our dive center and resort specializes in introducing divers and underwater photographers to rare and unique marine life. We pride ourselves on educating visitors about the fascinating small creatures that inhabit our waters - from the beautiful to the bizarre. Our focus is on distinctive invertebrates (cephalopods, nudibranchs, shrimps, crabs, etc.) and elusive fish species including pygmy seahorses, frogfish, and pipefish, rather than larger marine animals.
Nestled oceanside in a small village, our property is embraced by gardens and forests. Our intimate beach features beautiful mangrove trees and lush sea grass fields, creating a serene work environment.
We're conveniently located in Barangay Lonos, a short distance from Tiamban and Bonbon Beach, with Romblon Town just 10 minutes away by local transportation.
For digital nomads and tech-savvy travelers, we offer robust connectivity through both fiber optic WiFi and Starlink internet.
We're currently seeking assistance with software and workflow updates, making this an ideal opportunity for those with computer backgrounds.
Experience with social media management and website development would be valuable, though not required for all positions.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
By joining us, you'll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the wonders of our marine ecosystem and the hospitality of Romblon Island while developing professionally in a tech-forward environment. Learn about extraordinary marine creatures, ocean conservation, and the operations of a specialized dive center/resort on a serene, non-touristic Philippine island.
Romblon Island offers an authentic experience away from commercial tourism. While you won't find nightlife or extensive shopping, you'll discover pristine nature, excellent swimming spots, scenic hiking trails, and exceptional diving and snorkeling opportunities.
Our recent Starlink installation complements our fiber optic connection, ensuring you stay connected while working on our digital transformation projects.
The local community is exceptionally welcoming, providing countless opportunities to form meaningful connections and experience genuine Filipino hospitality. You'll be encouraged to engage with residents and develop cross-cultural friendships.
Explore both the digital and natural worlds during your stay. You're welcome to join our diving excursions for swimming and snorkeling when space permits (scuba diving is available at discounted rates). Your technical contributions will help modernize our operations while you enjoy the island's natural beauty.
You'll also experience local cuisine and ingredients firsthand, with opportunities to accompany us on trips to the town, local markets, and fish markets. This blend of professional development in technology and authentic cultural immersion creates a uniquely rewarding experience.Help
We operate a boutique resort (10 rooms) and specialize in unique diving experiences focused on rare marine creatures and underwater macro photography. We're currently seeking assistance with digital transformation initiatives including software updates and workflow optimization.
We need help with:
- Digital marketing and social media management
- Content creation (photos, videos, graphics, print materials)
- Website maintenance and development
- Software implementation and workflow improvements
Our resort now features both fiber optic and Starlink internet connections, providing reliable connectivity for tech-oriented tasks.
Additionally, we appreciate candidates with complementary skills such as:
- Culinary knowledge (we enjoy learning new recipes and cooking styles for our family meals)
- Interior design insights
- Creative art projects
- Other innovative ideas you might bring
Please note: While we value culinary diversity and enjoy preparing international dishes for our family, our German-trained chef handles all restaurant operations and guest dining.
We're genuinely excited about this cultural exchange opportunity! Our goal is to create a mutually beneficial experience where we can learn from your expertise while sharing our knowledge of marine life and Romblon Island's unique ecosystem. If you have strong computer skills combined with a passion for marine conservation, this could be an ideal match.Languages spoken

You would stay at a room in the resort (air-conditioned, private bathroom).
Room service 2x a week. We will provide 2 meals a day (breakfast and lunch/or dinner – can be discussed on site.)
You cannot bring visitors to the resort unless this was discussed previously. What else ...
Romblon Island is located at the end of the Verde Island Passage, which has the nickname “the center of center of biodiversity”. You might want to visit Bonbon Beach, Tiamban Beach or San Pedro Beach or tour the island by motorbike or tricycle. Maybe you like to see our marble crafting artists or swim at a waterfall. You can hike the hills and forests or visit nearby islands by boat. From Romblon Island it takes only 2 hours by ferry to reach Sibuyan Island with the majestic Mount Guiting Guiting. Sibuyan is also known as “the Galapagos of Asia” due to the amount of rare and endemic species in the Natural Park around the mountains.
