I was a little nervous about it being my first Workaway experience and I must say it was wonderful, Jeremy and Marie are the kindest people I've ever met, I felt really good during the 6 months the country allowed me to stay, I'm sure I'll be back.
I've learned a lot here and discovered a few skills I didn't know I had, like painting, harvesting,
… read more feeding sheep, and I was able to improve my English (no thanks to Jennie or Jonathan of course, I don't understand them) but the best thing of all is that I've met some really amazing people that I can now call friends (and yes, this includes Jennie and Jonathan) 💞
I really enjoyed the Thursday dinners, playing and joking around together, I'll miss my bestie kitchen manager Devyn, my best friend Chance, and the upcoming head gardener Hillary. 😂 I must also thank Becks, who from day one helped me and taught me about housekeeping and the funny/strange things that can sometimes be found after a group leaves.
Thank you so much for everything, I felt like family during my stay, I love you all very much and I will see you soon.
Amazing people in the most wonderfull and beautifull place, i wont add too much just because paul AKA Max has said it all and i was at the same time as him and it was incredible, got to meet wonderfull people and got to learn a few new things and tried new fruits and flavors, everything was just very lovely, each of one of them made it just

Sorry for the late review, I almost want to keep this gem hidden so they always have a spot for me. This has a special place in my heart; owned, managed and run by the most amazing people. Initially came for 3 months, but within the first two weeks, I knew I wanted to stay way longer.

Each morning you meet with the whole team (Jeremy, Marie, Ross, Hazel, Becks, Jenny, Kevin, Ian, Paul, Alan, Dave and Jonathan, miss you all!), and then address duties for the day and assign tasks, pairing volunteers with experienced staff to show you how to do everything. The day goes by quickly, as you have morning tea break, midday meal, and afternoon tea, and these breaks seem quicker still, as you're swapping stories and laughs with the entire team. Miss these moments!
The volunteers have a wonderful flat to share, with private rooms and bathrooms, lounge and kitchen that we made some fantastic meals for dinner. However, nothing comes close to when Ross cooks for the midday meal, and specifically when he runs the kitchen for the catered events! I plan on returning for more chicken soon.
Dinners with Jeremy and Marie regularly, attending the Coronation Tea, the fete, the end of summer barbecue, driving the staff car on the days off, this place is an absolute gem and should be shared with everyone!

It is worth mentioning he was also just as content initially on his own and happily adapted to rural life. A skill not everybody is suited too. Max is a good time keeper, not afraid of getting stuck in and hasn't let our small team down whilst with us. Max, we look forward to welcoming you back next year.

This was our first experience as workawayers and we loved the four months we spent with Marie, Jeremy and the whole team. The property is beautiful, we had a private bedroom and bathroom and all the food we need was provided.
We helped during the summer season, so we had a lot to do, we had the opportunity to learn how to do a high standard
… read more cleaning for the guests, we helped with the events and parties that took place during the season, we picked a lot of fruit from the garden, we helped with the preparation of food and also in the renovation of some parts of the property. It was a pretty intense summer with a lot of work to do, which means helping out for 8 hours 5 days a week.
On free days we were able to borrow the car and go to the neighboring towns of Fakenham, Sheringham and Cromer. This is a great place for those who want to have a lot of contact with nature and a true immersion in English culture. Everyone is very nice and always willing to teach. We learned a lot during our stay there and felt very welcomed by the hosts and staff. We will miss you all,
Warm hugs,
Tati and Rafa.
Tatiane & Rafael joined the Team in May 2022. They only planned to stay 12 weeks but enjoyed North Norfolk so much they extended their visit with us.
Tatiane and Rafael are mature, friendly, personable, trustworthy and polite. They were both keen to learn and adapted to different tasks very quickly. They enjoyed working both inside and outside
… read more and weren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. The Summer period gives opportunities to learn about different departments within hospitality but also different aspects of working in a large house. Both have experienced tasks in housekeeping, kitchen duties both at back of house and at an operational level, decorating, gardening, cooking; including assisting with the preparation of food served to guests and preparing meals for our own team.
We have sincerely appreciated having them both here. We will remember them fondly. Wishing you both all the very best moving forward.

I stayed there in October and November 2020 and really enjoyed experiencing such an amazing place. Everyone was so kind and made me feel really welcome. During my stay I helped carry out winter tasks inside the house, painting and decorating, repairing sash windows and cleaning. Sadly COVID cut my time short but I would come back in a heartbeat to

This is the 4th time we have left feedback for Riccardo and each time it has not appeared on the site... Hopefully we will be 4th time lucky !... I have always thought perhaps it is because Riccardo is the perfect Workawayer and is destined to return to us so no one else need know how wonderful he is ... my wishful thinking I fear !
Riccardo is

He has run his own business so understands what is going on in a full-bodied way, making him extra-helpful. He is relaxed, keen to learn and always aims for perfection in his work. He learns quickly, adapts to the needs at hand and readily became part of our 'Family' at the place. We appreciate, treasure and remember fondly the time he was with us and very much hope he will return to visit whenever he can - he will always be welcome ! We miss you Riccardo and wish you the very best life and experiences have to offer !

This is a place where time have stopped at least 200 years ago, an hidden gem in the heart of the most uncontaminated area of England.
Staying at this venue feels like living in a book of Charles Dickens, the surroundings a Van Gogh's painting.
This was my first Workaway experience and I have to say it went MUCH BETTER than any
… read more expectations.
During my 2months+ stay at this host I've learnt how to feed animals (now in love with sheep!), repair fences, many different kinds of indoor and outdoor painting and many other things, all in an old fashioned way.
What I really bring home with me after this experience is not just the skills I achieved and not just all the hikings in the stunning surroundings, but a bunch of new and especially VERY GOOD FRIENDS!💞
Marie and Jeremy are more than good hosts, they are like your family from the first minute. The most sincere, honest and careful person that you can expect. Always available for a nice chat, a dinner together or a going out. At this host there's nothing you have to think about that they haven't thought already before your arrival.
The food is just delicious and cooked for you. The jobs are never too hard as they change quite everyday and there's so much to do around the gardens and inside the house that the working day ends just before you know it!
The team of professionals are all English people, so kind, so good at what they do and especially, so happy to teach you if you're doing something for the first time.
With 2 tea breaks and 1 lunch break all together it is so quick to make your colleagues your new friends.
I want especially thank Tom, the most kind, professional and honest guy I ever worked with.
I also have to thank Frosty for keeping the atmosphere so funny all the time and Sally, the chef, for all the incredibly good food and her kindness!
I have to fully agree on something someone told me having dinner one night..."This is a place you can check out, but you'll never leave..."
I'll certainly come back at this place to learn more and to visit my new friends in North Norfolk! You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Alex came to help us here at the Hall at the end of the summer. He has been a great help to Sally our cook and looked after the home team providing with food and refreshment at our break times. Alex can offically tick off his Tea making skills now has i think he has made several hundred cups whilst assisting us!!!
He is a very polite and a calm
… read more person with a good sense of humour. He really had far more skills to be tapped into than we embraced.
He is a wizard with technology and would be a great asset should anyone choose to seek his help in this area.
One of his amazing hidden talents is origami. We were treated to a couple of his miniature paper sculptures which sit proudly on our office desks.
Alex is very low maintenance and is very independent and trustworthy. The perfect Workaway.
We enjoyed having him join us here at the Hall and would welcome him back anytime.
Wishing you safe and happy travels Alex, take care ..

This is a really lovely place... I arrived in March to help with lambing season and then stayed on to help in the hall for a couple of months. The work is varied and I got to do a lot whilst I was there - helping with the sheep, cooking, serving guests, housekeeping, painting, gardening and much more! The hours are 40+ each week so it’s a bit
… read more different to your standard workaway but everyone mucks in and the team are a good laugh.
The local area is lovely, it’s a 20 minute drive to the nearest beach and there are lots of little picturesque villages to visit. Holt is a lovely place for shopping and cafes and Brancaster Sands was one of my favourite beaches. Cromer and Norwich are only a half hour drive away too.
If you’re a hard worker and like the countryside this is the place for you.
Thanks for having me! :-)You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

Today is our first day back to work without Angela and she is already missed.
Angela Came to help us through Lambing back in April and stayed on to work alongside our House team. She raised to every challenge with great enthusiasm, energy and good old fashioned common sense.
Angela has been a real delight to host, someone you would pick on
… read more your team everyday of the week. She worked very well in all areas, cooking( becoming very confident and capable of cooking for functions alongside our House cook Sally) showing flair and precision, housekeeping, waiting on, painting outdoors on period windows and signage, painting and prepping indoors on cabinetry. Taking care of our sheep and Lambing all hours of the day, feeding our cats and ducks. Helping out in the Kitchen garden, shopping driving and running errands.... Angela is a true all rounder. Fully prepared to embrace new challenges and get stuck in. She is very polite and sociable and extremely tidy, a perfect workaway!
Thank you Angela for being you and such a hard worker, your next hosts are very lucky xxx

Dear team! I don’t want to miss leaving a feedback even if I’m several months late.
I spent 7 weeks at his beautiful and historic country estate in North Norfolk. The home team of the hall is very welcoming. They love to talk which is perfect if you are keen on improving your speaking and listening skills and they have a great sense of humour
… read more (especially the gardeners! Give my regards to Paul, ha, ha). I laughed a lot and enjoyed my time with the staff very much. The atmosphere is very positive!
I was given a cosy room in a small flat which is only for staff members. On workdays you will have lunch with the team and of course regular tea breaks (British people love their cup of tea, it’s not only a cliché). Often the ingredients for the meals come from the own vegetable and fruit garden…lots of strawberries and raspberries in summer…yum. We had nice and interesting conversations during our meals, on some days there were also other people joining us. So you will have the chance to meet many interesting people. Your dinner will be prepared and you just have to warm it up. On some evenings the owners of the hall - Marie and Jeremy - invited me for dinner when they had guests. They are very kind and open-minded people and Marie is a fantastic cook. In terms of food I can say that you will be looked after very well and you certainly don’t have to starve.
I helped in the kitchen, with housekeeping and in the huge garden which is very well maintained by the gardeners. Tasks can be preparing lunch, helping in the kitchen when there are events such as weddings, serving, cleaning the rooms and the hall in general and various gardening tasks such as planting, weeding, watering, picking fruit and vegetables.
I had an amazing time and would recommend it to anyone who is seeking for a real British countryside experience and interested in socializing and meeting the locals.
Thank you, dear team, for the “refreshing”, inspiring and enjoyable weeks with you!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I've been so lucky to find this amazing place. This 1789's hall is surrounded by a beautiful landscape !
There is a large (10 to 15 persons depending on the season) team composed of the kindest individuals.
I suggest everyone to go there, it's a place where everyone can find and develop interests. Mine was to enhance my skills in house maintenance
… read more and in the kitchen while speaking english. And I did much of that thanks to the team.
The accomodation is perefect, with all conveniences. On your free time, you are likely to enjoy the main living room with a great view on the garden. And you will fall in love with your meals which are provided by Sally who is a very good cook.
The working time is stimulating, there is always something different to do. And everyone will do his best to suit your capabilities.
You are likely to learn a lot working with either the gardening team or with Sally in the kitchen or with Karl for house maintenance !
It's an incredible place to live in and everyone of the people you're going to meet is so friendly, helpful and lovely, that it will be very easy to become familiar with them. I really enjoyed this place, it's unique and extraordinary. You won't be disappointed.
I have to say a big thank to the team who was thoroughly involved into getting me integrated in the team. I hope to come back as soon as possible !!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.
