    Description

Hello Workawayers, my name is Lynnaya. I am a Registered Nurse who normally lives in Australia. Recently my father passed away unexpectedly. He had a farm in rural Alberta, Canada.

I have decided to make the big move back to Canada and keep my dads legacy going as best I can and care for his farm. But I have almost no idea what I am doing. So there is a lot of learning happening along the way.

I have started the project and something I realized the most is that I don't know exactly what I need, but having more people to take on the load would make everything a lot easier. From cleaning and organizing, to systemizing and making "life" on the farm "easy" and peaceful on a daily basis.

People who are self inspired, work independently, are flexible, adaptable, pay close attention to detail and are able to follow directions would be ideal. As the needs of the house and the farm change daily.

Looking forward to planting and caring for a garden this year and nurturing the land.

Living closely on the land. Getting more in tune with nature and it's natural cycles.
To see the stars without light pollution. To breathe the fresh air. See fireflies light up in the grass. Live amongst nature. Find peace, joy and harmony in your heart.

It is also an active bee and bison farm so you will observe these practices as well. Bison have their babies in May and June.

My grandparents live near by and I keep an eye on them, they visit regularly to my house. I also have a two year old niece that I babysit sometimes, so I ticked the boxes for elder companion (my grandparents love to chat) and child care in case anyone likes hanging with two year olds. she can be a little firecracker.

I love music, yoga, breathwork, meditation and all things that bring joy :) We will be making sure to find the joy in every activity and have as much fun along the way as possible.

The house was a duplex which was converted into a single house with a roughly finished basement. There is 6+ bedrooms, so there is a lot of space. Let me know your requirements for accomodation in advance and I can show you the rooms available. There is also lots of land available to create whatever space you are comfortable in.

    What else ...

Looking for people who are able to be flexible and adaptable. Chill and go with the flow.
The priorities can change from day to day. There won't be massive pressure to fulfill the hours as such. Just enjoy your stay here and help where you feel inspired to.

Just so you are aware. This location is very isolated.
There is nothing walking distance away. The closest town is 15 minutes drive, but the closest place with proper resources is one hour drive. So this is a very good place to chill, relax, read a book, meditate, have a barbecue, go for a walk, watch the sunset. I think It is very tranquil out here.

2 hours drive to Edmonton Airport
3 ish hours to Calgary airport.

****If you communicate well in advance your flight details I can pick you up from the airport and drive you back to an airport or major city to catch a bus or whatever afterwards if agreed upon prior. If you stay for 7 + days, I can pick you up from Edmonton airport and return to Edmonton for free****
