    Description

    We're a small family of three (plus two cats), living in a lovely neighbourhood just outside Ballina, south of Byron Bay.

    We're an active, easy-going family who enjoy a healthy, low-tech lifestyle and spending time outdoors. Whether it's bushwalking, heading to the beach, gardening, landscaping or working on a creative project, there's usually something keeping us busy. We love good food and making things from scratch, and we're happy to accommodate different dietary needs.

    Our garden backs onto a small park and nature reserve, and there's a bike path right nearby that takes you straight into Ballina and on to the beaches. By car, we're just five minutes from Ballina, ten minutes from several beautiful beaches, and around 25 minutes from Byron Bay, Brunswick Heads and Mullumbimby.

    Rhys is self-employed and works from home some of the time, while I (Marion) work full-time as a PE teacher.

    Overall, we enjoy a simple, grounded lifestyle, value genuine connections and love welcoming people into our home.

    Our guests will experience life in the Rainbow Region of Northern NSW. We try to make the most of what this beautiful area has to offer: go on bushwalks, go to the beach surfing or just hanging out and we are more than happy to share this with our guests.

    Help

    We are mainly looking for a helping hand in the garden and around the house: There is an outdoor sauna and spa area that isn’t completely finished. We still have some landscaping, paving, moving rocks and planting to do. Some of the trees out the back need thinning out and we’d like to establish some fruit trees and a veggie garden as well.
    Then, there’s cleaning around the house (if needed), cooking (if you like it), general maintenance and mowing the lawn, that we would love some help with. At times, we get quite busy with work and activities and aren’t able to assist our workawayers much with their tasks. Other times, when we’ve got time, we’ll happily join in and work alongside our travellers or go on day trips to the beach or the hinterland.

    Our place is a great starting point to explore the beautiful northern rivers area with only a short drive to numerous beaches, the hinterland with its rainforests and creeks for swimming or to just enjoy the towns and markets of the area. We can provide lifts to town or the beach at times but having your own car or van would just make your stay with us easier and give you more options.
