    Description

We live in an old stone farmhouse nestled in the green hills between Umbria and Tuscany, right halfway between Rome and Florence. At certain times of the year, we need a little extra help with gardening, cleaning, animal care and general mantainance around the property. For the past 15 years we’ve been welcoming people from all over the world and it is one of the most enriching experiences of our life; sharing, curiosity about what is different, open-mindedness, and that special connection that can grow beyond cultural and language barriers. These are values we truly believe in. Every single experience has been different, yet each one has left us with something meaningful — new perspectives, unexpected friendships, stories we’ll never forget.

For us, hosting is first of all about connection. We love sharing meals, stories, laughs, and everyday Italian life. Good food is guaranteed — lively conversations too!
If you enjoy gardening, you’ll be in paradise here. Our garden is full of plants and flowers, and there’s always something new growing (sometimes faster than we can manage!). Nature itself is a great teacher — the rhythm of the seasons, the animals, the quiet energy of the countryside… it’s something you truly experience rather than explain.
I’m a language teacher, so I’d be happy to help you with Italian (and French, if you’d like). Informal lessons often happen naturally — at the dinner table, in the garden, or over a coffee break.
We’re lucky to live between Umbria and Tuscany, an area full of beautiful towns and hidden gems. I used to work as a tour guide, so I’ll happily share tips and secret spots that you won’t easily find in a guidebook.
At the same time, we’re just as curious about you. We genuinely enjoy learning how people from different cultures see the world. Staying with us is not only about helping and learning practical skills — it’s about sharing perspectives, ideas, and maybe even a few friendly debates.
Living together teaches communication, flexibility, creativity… and a good sense of humor definitely helps too! 😊

  • Help

    Help

We’re looking for a little help with gardening, cleaning, animal care and general maintenance around the house. The type of tasks changes depending on the season, so there’s always something different going on.

Help is only around private home and garden but not in spaces used by guests... they usually love their privacy! So it’s absolutely not a problem if you don’t speak English!

Even if some of these activities are completely new to you, don’t worry — they’re all simple, hands-on tasks that anyone can learn. We’ll show you what to do, step by step. The work is varied and never repetitive, which makes it much more enjoyable and fun.

One of the things our Workawayers appreciate most is that we offer a fully independent mini apartment just for you. It features a cozy wooden loft bedroom, a private bathroom, a small kitchen, and a small living area — a warm and welcoming space you can see in the photos on our profile. This gives you your own privacy, while we’ll still share lunches and dinners together in the main house and enjoy daily life as a family.

The house is connected by a direct bus to Perugia, a lively and culturally rich university city, and the capital of Umbria — just as Florence is the capital of Tuscany. We also provide bicycles so you can explore the beautiful countryside and nature surrounding the property.

We are located in the gentle Umbrian hills, overlooking the historic village of Montepetriolo, close to Lake Trasimeno. The property is surrounded by olive groves, vineyards and sunflower fields, and includes a large private garden with shaded areas, pergolas for outdoor dining, walking paths and a swimming pool nestled among cypress trees and roses — a peaceful oasis in the heart of the Italian countryside.
