Thank you Jon Anders and Generosa for hosting us. The landscape and situation of the cabin is incredible, right on the water, and you can catch fish to eat, which two of the workawayers did very successfully to feed all 8/9 of us in the cabin. The cultural exchange happens with the other workawayers and we enjoyed it a lot. We arrived during an

Occasionally Jon asked us to work additional hours, with time off in the future to compensate to help him meet his production deadline. There are approximately 16,000 trees so there is a lot of work to be done and they will always be able to keep you busy. The cabin that workawayers stay in is lovely but only really has 3 habitable bedrooms, we were put in the 4th which has no heating or windows and was very damp. We did some beautiful hikes in the region and met some great people during our stay. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I stayed 4 weeks at the farm of family Fuglestein and it was just a great time. The farm is located in beautiful landscape which offers many hiking opportunities and amazing points of view. Jon Anders and Generosa are both very kind, funny and welcoming people who are always up for a joke :)
They really want the workawayers to see and experience

The accomodation for the workawayers is amazing! For some time we were 7 workawayers cooking or playing games together or going on hiking trips at the weekends. So I got to know many nice people.
All in all, I don't know how to thank Jon Anders and Generosa. They enable such a great experience for so many people. I will definitely come back! So, everyone thinking about going there, just DO IT! You won't regret it!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We spent only 2 weeks with Jon Anders and Generosa and it was amazing.

The cabin was a dream and we had a beautiful view over the fjord so we saw dolphins every single day.
There you can cook by yourself the dinner and meals during the weekends, while there is a shared breakfast and lunch during workdays to get to know each other and to have time for all kind of conversations.
You need to go on hiking trips if you stay there. There are short ones - perfect for after work - and also longer ones that are all amazing.
We are so glad to have stayed there and wouldn't hesitate to go back. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

We spent two months (February and March) at the apple farm. It was our first workaway experience and it was Amaizing. We were treated like part of the family by Jon-Anders and Generosa.
Breakfast and lunch were always up at the farmhouse together with everyone (Jon-Anders, Robert, Generosa and all the other workawayers). We usually made dinner in
… read more the cabin we lived in with the other workawayers (as four pm when the family had their dinner was a little too early for us).
At Breakfast we were always told the tasks for the day, although sometimes Jon-Anders came to get us to do something else or Robert needed us to help with something. It is all very spontaneous ;)
We spent most of our time pruning apple trees and learned a lot about trees from Jon-Anders. He really pours his heart and soul into the apple trees and the products. Btw. their apple juice is THE BEST (and we can say that even though we have had fresh apple juice at home quite often), you should also really try the Apple-ginger jelly!! Generossa even showed us how to make the jelly because we loved it so much :).
On days with really bad weather we cleaned the house or worked inside, tidying the Barn.
We also helped cooking and creating family meals sometimes which we also did during the working hours.
Don’t worry, Jon-Anders has so many projects he wants to do, there will always be work, even if it is not pruning or picking season. That being said, we never had to work extra hours and due to the short working hours you still have lots of time to explore and go hiking. There are so many great hikes which you can do from the farm without needing a car. (you can borrow the car for trips further away on days the family doesn't need it though). Natur is just amazing there and there are so many beautiful hikes.
If you are trying to find a place and you are a spontaneous person who loves being with other people this is definitely the place for you.
Thank you again Jon-Anders, Generosa and Robert for the amazing time and all the best with the apple Farm!! We hope to see you again at some point. You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

In our 8 months Europe trip doing workaway, this one was our BEST experience so far.
We stayed 7 weeks in this amazing Apple farm owned by Jon and with his beautiful family: Generosa, Brage, baby girl, the grandparents and Rob. The most caring and friendly people we've ever met.
We were treated like friends or even members of their family. They
… read more always made sure that we had everything we needed. We were living in their cottage with a breathtaking view of the fjord (where you can see daulphins quite often!). Every lunch was in their house and we could spend time together. We were regularly cooking cakes, dinners to enjoy all together as a family. We didn't get the time to have karaoke, movie evenings but there are open to do it!
About the work, it's only 4 hours per day (2 days off per week) and they make sure that you're okay with the work and Jon is putting his heart into his Apple trees. He will teach you with passion how to take care of the trees and how it is to run an Apple farm.
The free days are just amazing because you have such a beautiful nature to explore. There is so many hikes to do, even without a car you have nice mountains to hike around the farm. But if you don't have a car, no worries, the family is absolutely adorable and they will give you their cars if they don't use it. (And you go on groceries shopping with it)
Plenty of things to do, we barely did everything we wanted. Time flied.
Oh... How can we forget... They have a cabin in the wood, view of a lake. It's near the farm, you can go by walk. It's great and you can ask to have a weekend there. We did it in a snowy weekend. It was magical.
This farm has a huge potential. We won't be surprised that in a few months they will have a great success. (with workaway and so with their business). We could write a book to tell you about everything. We felt so good and happy in this place. We want to visit them again soon!
Just GO THERE, they need your help and investment, you won't regret it.You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I stayed at Jon Anders' and Generosas apple Farm for one month and what can I say, it was an incredible experience.
This was my first Workaway and I think I couldn't be more lucky!
I met wonderful people at this place and felt welcomed the second I arrived. Throughout my stay the whole family did everything, so that everybody feels comfortable.

The work is quite physical but also very doable and fun, especially because Jon Anders and Generosa where always down for a joke or two.
I totally recommend this Workaway, especially if you love the outdoors and spontaneous people;)

It was our first Workaway stay and it was fantastic. Jon and his family are very friendly and take good care of everyone. With Jon we usually had breakfast together and talked about the tasks for the day. When we stayed with Jon from february until the end of march it was mostly cutting the trees.
Robert is a friend of the family and works most weekdays on the farm. He is a very helpful and friendly guy.
Jon also has a cabin by the lake that we stayed in for a night which was a very cool experience.
Since workawayers only work a little more than four hours a day on weekdays, we had a lot of time to go hiking and and do longer trips on the weekend. Preikestolen is somewhat close by and Stavanger is about an hour away by ferry from Jelsa and Jesla is only a ten minute drive away.
