We are keen to have volunteers for the end of November/early December for Olive picking.
Hello! We are a couple living with two dogs, some guinea pigs and a beautiful view on an olive farm on the Coll De L'alba in Catalunyan. We are situated on a top of a terraced mountain side surrounded by olive, carob and fig trees. We have breath taking panoramic views of the delta ebre and the surrounding area.
The house is a rustic, traditional stone Masia (with two separate annex rooms for volunteers and guests) which is off grid: we do have running hot water for showers and wifi (from solar and a generator).
We need help! The land around the finca has not been farmed for many years and we are attempting to reclaim it without using chemicals or heavy machinery. We aim to be organic and self sufficient.
We are located halfway between Barcelona and Valencia: just twenty minutes from the nearest large town, Tortosa, and twenty minutes from the beach. There are excellent bus and train services in the area. We have bikes that can be borrowed.
We eat a predominantly vegetarian diet but do eat some meat.
I am an ex-Steiner teacher and Matt is a landscape gardener and designer. We are keen to share skills and meet people. We are learning Catalan and speak fluent English, some poor French and Spanish as well!

We live in a culturally rich area of Catalunyan surrounded by historical villages and towns. Our finca backs onto a national park and is on an area of specific interest to Catalunyan in relation to history and culture. The traditional ways of life are present in the local area through work and fiestas. We have the mountains and the sea on our door step to explore and enjoy.
Pruning trees, land clearance, dry stone wall repairing and construction - People with gardening and tree surgery experience would be welcome but not necessary. Enthusiasm is key!
English: Fluent
Annex rooms with ensuite - one double, one twin, plenty of space for camping.
It's a diverse area with a broad range of activities to access from rock climbing in suirana to angling for cat fish on the river ebre. There are plenty of beautiful towns and villages to explore, mountains to hike, trails to cycle, unspoilt beaches to enjoy and lovely local restaurants to enjoy seafood and wine!
