Description
Hola..I am Chris, a 70's baby, 80's child, 90's student, free party goer n traveler (30 years a DJ)....Farmer and father of 3 kids, the youngest of which, Savi - now a teenager - lives with me part-time on our large (2 hectares) organic farm in Las Alpujarras, Southern Spain.
Our family life here began 20 years ago, with us living in self-made geodesic domes up in the mountains, totally off-grid and off-road. We continue to farm there, though much of our attention is now with our off-grid farm in a community valley, where we have extensive fruit and vegetable gardens (including many olive trees), a greenhouse, 3 dogs and a cat! We use traditional and modern methods of organic farming, growing produce all year round for ourselves and a local cooperative. Alongside this we continue to create a venue for Earth conscious events and accommodation for nature loving people, which we are building using natural and up-cycled materials. We have various hand-crafted spaces able to accommodate 15-20 people, including 2 traditional Mongolian yurts (one of which is set up as a rehearsal/recording studio & disco), and imaginatively renovated, converted and extended spaces, including a classic caravan and a 7.5 ton truck. We also have a salt water pool for use all year round and offer kayaking, e-bike tours, trampolining and table tennis! We regularly run a cafe-restaurant where all profits go to the Refugee Community Kitchen (RCK) and many more daytime and evening RCK fundraising events are in the pipeline. Our visitors receive good, healthy, organic, vegetarian/vegan food and accommodation in a self-contained caravan (fully equipped kitchen & heating). . Work includes general gardening and land maintenance, harvesting, building and general labour and helping us to offer our guests a comfortable, enjoyable experience and adventure. We are an open minded, accepting and a very friendly bunch, so come get involved!Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
We 've been about for 15yrs,the first 10 on a farm up the mountain in home built low impact geodomes ,a kilometre hike from the road and village Canar, altitude 1000m ,in a community scattered on a mountain side, where the youngest kids were born and raised. Then using mules ,rebuilt ancient watering systems ,installed solar power, and using old and modern organic gardening techniques, lived off the land, and became sustainable as possible,we also travelled in our motor home ,a converted truck ,working big festivals in Uk and Europe with a multi media theatre company and giant interactive puppets used for band stages and kids spaces.

El trabajo fue fácil de hacer sin muchos problemas, aunque llegamos en un momento en que era un poco repetitivo. Perros, gatos, etc. eran muy lindos. La comida estaba sana (¡no es mal!).
