Description
Our farm is located in the small village of Chandrawati in Central Nepal. Our family consists of four members: Sabita (mother), Sandip (father), Sudishya (10) and Sadika (4). Our extended family also lives close by and often visits us.
On our farm we take care of different animals like goats, chicken and fishes. We grow a variety of different vegetables and fruits, including mangos, strawberries, pomegranates, corn, rice and much much more. We deeply believe that the best way to manage a farm is with nature and not against it. Therefore, we do not use any pesticides or other harmful chemicals but rely on organic farming methods.
Chandrawati is a peaceful village surrounded by forests and fields. There is no tourism in Chandrawati, so you will experience authentic Nepalese village life. We will introduce you to our culture, including our rituals, our family life and of course our food.
While the village is rather remote, it is still fairly easy to reach. There are buses to the next town (Dumre Bazar) several times a day. From there it is easy to each a bus to Kathmandu, Pokhara or other places in Nepal.
It is a good area for hiking with several Hindu temples just a few minutes from the house. 40 minutes walking from home you have a beautiful view of the Himalayan mountains if the weather is good. There are also several beautiful villages close to our home, including Bandipur and Tutepani (see photos).
For your help we will provide you with accommodation and delicious local food.
