  Casa Delfin is pleased to announce the opening of internships in a B&B/ guesthouse hotel located in Las Terrenas, Samana Dominican Republic, for college seniors and graduate students in the areas of hospitality and tourism and related fields. The objective of the internship is to involve the intern in the various operational areas of the hotel.
  
  Under the supervision, training and support of the hotel owners, the intern will have the opportunity to learn how to manage each of the areas of the hotel: rooms, food and beverage and general administration. The intern will familiarize him / herself with the operations of the hotel through an orientation program.
  
  The ideal candidate must show interest in understanding the operations of a small hotel located in Nort – Eastern of the Dominican Republic. The intern must get involved in the operations of each of the three aforementioned areas. The internship offers the opportunity to work for a period of 25 - 35 hours a week closed to one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic.
  
  All applicants must have basic knowledge of Spanish and French and are willing to improve them. Students who are fluent in languages other than English and Spanish will have to be assessed individually. But in the end is all in your personality and attitude!
  
  The internship will provide the students the opportunity to strengthen their knowledge and to develop their professional skills. At the end of the internship, interns will have acquired experience in areas of a hotel, which will add value to their resumes.

  Responsibilities
  
  • Take guest reservations correctly and courteously via phone and email;
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously (check-in, check-out, personal information, rooms, luggage, security);
  • Collect money from the guest;
  • Ensure the cleanliness and order (exterior, lobby, rooms, terrace, etc.);
  • Monitor the need for maintenance, repairs or refurbishing, ensuring that the necessary work is carried out;
  • Verify the supplies of the hotel and make sure to have them (cleaning products, sheets, towels, toilet paper, etc.)
  • Housekeeping when necessary;
  • Assist the housekeeper with the cleaning if necessary;
  • Carry errand for the hotel;
  • Assist the owner in any other request of activities;
  
  
  Requirements
  •Outgoing and open-minded
  •Experience in planning, reporting, and supervising staff would be an asset
  •Demonstrated ability to promote effective relations with customer’s
  •Strong team building and interpersonal skills
  •Capacity to work both as a leader and within a multi-disciplinary team and independently
  •Ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision
  Skills
  Required - Basic Spanish
  Preferred - Social Media, Basic French
  
  We offer accommodation with kitchen, electricity, internet, water. In some cases an stipendum.
  
  We are looking for someone who committed at least one months to a year.
