  Hi! I'm Olivier, i'm 38 years old, carpenter and food lover.
  And here we are in the green valleys of the Auxois, a region close to Morvan and its beautiful forests, and also not too far from the city of Dijon. We live here with my 4 years old son in an old house I have (nearly) renovated.
  The valleys and wooded pastures are perfect for those who like nature and hiking.
  However, it is very isolated and quiet. Recently our little village has seen the arrival of young people and with them the desire to meet and have a good time, but it is still not very animated!
  
  For years i have been passionate about the environment and self sufficiency, in a very practical way.
  I think that to find some degree of independence and freedom from the system we have to rediscover some aspects of subsistance living, question our needs, find the ability (and pleasure!) to live and produce together.
  
  To get there, i want to experiment on all facets of self sufficiency.
  At home, in the garden, at the technical level, I want to find simple and ecological solutions to meet my needs.
  In the future, I'd love for this place to become a community passionate with these projects.
  Therefore I am also very interested by other people's experiences on collective life.

  Salut! Je suis Olivier, 38 ans, charpentier et grand amateur de cuisine.
  Et ici, c'est les vertes vallées de l'Auxois, à deux pas des belles forêts du Morvan, et de Dijon. Nous habitons avec mon fils de 4 ans dans une vieille maison que j'ai (presque fini de) rénover.
  Les paysages vallonnés et les bocages sont parfaits pour ceux qui aiment les balades et la nature.
  Par contre, c'est un territoire très isolé, très tranquille. Peu à peu notre petit village rajeunit avec l'arrivée de nouveaux habitants, et avec le nombre, l'envie de se rencontrer et passer des bons moments, mais on ne peut pas dire qu'il y ait une animation incroyable!
  
  Depuis des années je me passionne pour tout ce qui a trait à l'autonomie, l'écologie, dans la pratique.
  Je pense que pour retrouver un certain degré d'indépendance et de liberté vis à vis du système il faut redécouvrir certaines activités de subsistance, savoir requestionner nos besoins, savoir retrouver la capacité (et le plaisir!) de vivre et produire ensemble.
  
  Pour y arriver, j'ai envie d'expérimenter dans toutes les facettes de l'autonomie.
  Que ce soit à la maison, au jardin, au niveau des techniques, je veux trouver des moyens simples et écologiques de subvenir à mes besoins.
  A terme, j'aimerais que cet endroit devienne une communauté passionnée par ces projets.
  Je suis donc aussi très intéressé par les expériences des autres sur le vivre ensemble.

  I have been able to travel by participating on other people's projects and I am very grateful for it.
  I have made good friends through this, and I hope I can continue to benefit from this mutual understanding by hosting you.
  Beyond the help (which I do need), the exchange with others is what motivates me most.
  I offer good meals, good discussions, activities depending on the season (hiking, swimming...).
  I hope we will have a good time together!
  
  For those who like reading, I have a nicely filled bookshelf on all subjects that interest me: the environment, philosophy, politics, anarchy, self-sufficiency... and also stories and comics. I have many in english.
  
  For those who are interested, I can share with you some of my knowledge, for example in ecological construction, woodworking (including hand tools joinery), vegetarian cooking...

  J'ai moi-même pu voyager en participant aux projets des autres et ça m'a beaucoup apporté. J'ai vécu des belles histoires d'amitié par ce biais. J'espère pouvoir continuer à profiter de cet enrichissement mutuel en vous accueillant.
  Au delà de l'aide (dont j'ai besoin quand même), c'est vraiment l'échange qui me motive.
  Je propose de bons repas, de belles discussions, des activités suivant la saison (balades, baignades...).
  J'espère qu'on passera ensemble de bons moments!
  
  Pour ceux qui aiment la lecture, j'ai une bonne bibliothèque sur les sujets qui me passionnent; écologie, philosophie, politique, anarchisme, autonomie... mais aussi des romans et des BD.
  
  Pour ceux que ça intéresse, je peux aussi partager avec vous certaines de mes compétences: en construction écologique, dans le travail du bois, y compris la menuiserie sans machine, en cuisine végétarienne...

  Even if the house is nearly finished (for now), as self sufficiency goes there is still a lot to do.
  
  I am trying to set up a productive veg garden, so I need help to weed, plant, harvest and transform.
  The land has not been tilled for years so as an experiment I would like to start a no-till garden. I don't know if it will work in this heavy clay soil but if you're okay with experimenting without a need to succeed, you're welcome.
  I would also like to plant a plot for edible perenials. Nothing has been started at this point, I know which varieties I would like to plant but new ideas are welcome.
  I have not done any gardening for a while, so I do not pretend to be a master gardener from which you can learn. But it will grow something!
  
  As for other projects; i need to build a sheep fold to house my two sheep, and a chicken coop to start raising chickens for eggs.
  Unlike gardening, building is my job and I will be happy to share my knowledge: traditionnal carpentry, stone and lime mortar masonry... beginners are welcome.
  
  Depending on the season there could be other tasks; firewood; digging ponds; planting trees; caring for the tools; setting up natural habitats; etc. Don't hesitate to propose a project yourself!

  Même si la rénovation de la maison est quasi terminée (pour le moment), en termes autonomie il reste encore beaucoup à faire.
  
  Je cherche à mettre en place un jardin productif en légumes, et j'ai donc besoin d'aide pour désherber, planter, récolter, puis transformer.
  Le terrain n'ayant pas été travaillé pendant des années, j'essaie de mettre en place un potager sans travail du sol. Je ne sais pas si ça fonctionnera dans cette terre très argileuse mais si ça vous intéresse d'expérimenter sans pression de résultat, bienvenue.
  Je voudrais aussi planter une parcelle de plantes comestibles vivaces. Tout est à mettre en place à ce niveau. J'ai une idée des variétés que je veux planter mais toute idée nouvelle est la bienvenue.
  Je n'ai pas mis les mains dans la terre depuis assez longtemps; je ne prétends donc pas avoir une compétence incroyable en jardinage. Mais ça devrait quand même pousser!
  
  Parmi les autres projets, il y a aussi la construction d'une petite bergerie pour abriter mes deux brebis, et d'un poulailler pour accueillir un petit élevage de poules pondeuses.
  Contrairement au jardin, pour ce qui est de la construction, c'est mon métier et je serai très heureux de partager mon savoir faire avec vous: charpente traditionnelle, maçonnerie pierre et chaux, couverture... les débutants sont les bienvenus.
  
  Selon la saison d'autres tâches sont possibles: faire du bois de chauffage; creuser des mares; planter des arbres; entretenir les outils; créer des habitats pour les animaux sauvages; etc. Ne pas hésiter à me faire part de vos envies!

  If you are alone, or a couple, you can sleep in my Tiny House if it is not occupied.
  It is independent, with its own kitchen, shower, toilets.
  During the warm months it is possible to camp, I have some tents I can lend.
  
  For meals, there can be a few different situations:
  - If I'm gone to work, I probably won't be able to cook for breakfast and lunch, but I can cook for dinner;
  - On weekends or if I'm not working, we can also share lunch.
  - For breakfasts, i'll leave everything available, you can help yourself as you want.
  
  I am half vegetarian, I do not cook meat and I eat very little fish and dairy products.
  If you want meat, you are welcome to buy it and cook it yourself, I do not mind.
  I can cook, unless you really want to.
  
  However, i ask for a little help with washing the dishes and cleaning up afterwards. Thanks!

  Si vous êtes seul ou en couple, vous pouvez être hébergé dans ma Tiny house tant qu'elle est disponible.
  Elle est indépendante avec sa propre cuisine, douche, toilettes sèches.
  En période chaude il est possible de faire du camping, j'ai plusieurs tentes à prêter.
  
  Pour les repas, il peut y avoir plusieurs situations:
  - les jours où je suis au travail, je ne pourrais peut-être pas fournir les repas du petit déjeuner et du midi, mais je peux fournir celui du dîner.
  - les weekends ou si je ne travaille pas, nous pouvons aussi partager le repas du midi.
  - pour les petits déjeuners, je peux mettre ce qu'il faut à disposition, et chacun prends son petit déj quand il veut.
  
  Je suis à moitié végétarien, je ne cuisine pas de viande et très peu de poisson, très peu de produits laitiers.
  Si vous voulez de la viande, vous pouvez en acheter et la cuisiner ici sans problème.
  Je veux bien m'occuper de la cuisine, à moins que vous n'ayez très envie de cuisiner.
  
  Par contre je demande un peu d'aide pour la vaisselle et le rangement des repas, merci!

  If you come by public transports, you can take the train to the nearest station (Verrey sous Salmaise) and I will pick you up. There isn't much in terms of public transport otherwise. I can lend bicycles.
  
  As I have a very young kid, I ask that people do not have a behaviour that could be dangerous for him (drugs or alcohol abuse especially).

  Si vous venez en transports en commun, vous pouvez prendre le train jusqu'à la gare la plus proche (Verrey sous Salmaise) et je viendrais vous chercher. Il n'y a pas grand chose d'autre en termes de transport par ici. Je peux prêter des vélos.
  
  J'ai un enfant en bas âge, donc j'attends des visiteurs qu'ils n'aient pas un comportement dangereux vis à vis de lui (particulièrement les drogues et l'abus d'alcool).

  On a la fibre, avec une bonne connexion, mais le wifi ne porte pas jusque dans la tiny house. Pour accéder à internet, il faudra s'installer dans la maison. We have high speed internet here, but the wifi doesn't reach the Tiny house. To go online you'll need to come into the house.

  Space for parking camper vans

  Pour le moment on ne peut garer de van que dans la rue. Je suis en bout d'impasse, donc ça ne pose pas de problème. Je cherche un meilleur endroit. As for now it is only possible to park a van in the street. I'm at the end of a dead end street, so it is ok. I am still looking for a better place.

  Can possibly accept pets

  Vous pouvez venir avec un chien mais je préfèrerais qu'il ne dorme pas dans la tiny house, c'est un habitat fragile que les animaux ont tendance à abîmer rapidement. Si besoin il peut dormir à l'intérieur, dans la maison. You can bring a dog but I'd rather he did not sleep in the Tiny house. It's a fragile building that animals tend to damage quickly. If necessary he can sleep inside in the house.
