  • Description

We are a family who live and work on our farm in north eastern New South Wales.
The location of our farm, being half way between the towns of Casino and Lismore, makes it easily accessible by road, rail or air travel. Visitors who have their own transport are more easily able to explore and enjoy our region.
We are less than an hours drive from Byron Bay. Other beaches such as Ballina and Evans Heads are even closer. Beautiful rainforest and other natural attractions are near.
On our farm we pasture feed cattle. Also we grow pastures and crops to make hay and round bale silage for sale. We have some sheep, pigs, poultry and pets as well.
The farm is bordered by the Richmond River, which provides opportunity for recreational activities.
We provide comfortable accommodation and meals in a family home in exchange for some help on the farm. You do not need previous experience as we are willing to teach you how to do required farm activities.
We are not able to sign for hours towards a second year of working holiday visa.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Public Transport to the farm from local towns is limited but we are able to take people to town when necessary - Casino is only 16 kilometres away and Lismore just a little further.
If volunteers have their own car they may find it easier to get here and explore the region but we are happy to pick people up from either Casino or Lismore.
With the river, lagoons and creeks on the farm there is opportunity for fishing and kayaking. There are also many native birds that live on or visit our farm, as well as other wildlife to discover.
We are not far from a Koala colony and they can sometimes be easily seen.
Tourist attractions of Byron Bay and Nimbin can be reached by bus from Lismore. Brochures about local recreational and tourist activities are available.
We have been hosting overseas guests under various programs for many years.
Ability to communicate in English is necessary, but your English doesn't need to be perfect.
We do not allow smoking in any house, vehicle or sheds for health and safety reasons.
We do not sign for second year visa hours.
