    Description

We are restoring an off-grid architectural home, hidden deep in the Daintree Rainforest in Far North Queensland, Australia.
This is not a commercial farm or a hostel — it’s a long-term, hands-on project focused on bringing an incredible space back to life while living in rhythm with nature.
The property is completely off-grid and surrounded by rainforest. Life here is simple, quiet and connected to the environment. Days are shaped by weather, light and the natural pace of the place.
We’re also documenting the journey as part of a cinematic project, so this is more than just a place to stay — it’s a living story that people become part of.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Life here is about sharing space, stories and a slower way of living.
We live together inside, so the experience is naturally social — shared meals, conversations, and time spent around the house or outside in the rainforest. Evenings are often simple: cooking together, sitting outside, or just enjoying the quiet.
People who come here bring their own stories, cultures and perspectives, and that becomes part of the experience. We enjoy learning from each other — whether it’s food, ways of thinking, or just how life is lived in different parts of the world.
At the same time, this place has its own rhythm. Being surrounded by the Daintree Rainforest, you naturally slow down. Days are shaped by weather, light and the environment rather than schedules.
We also share what we’re building here — the process of restoring, living off-grid, and creating something meaningful over time. For those interested, there’s also a creative side, as we document the journey through photo and video.

  • Help

    Help

This is an ongoing off-grid restoration project, so the type of help changes depending on what we’re working on at the time.
Most of the help is hands-on and practical, such as:
General maintenance and small building projects
Gardening and land care (clearing, planting, keeping things tidy)
Basic painting, cleaning and upkeep around the house
    Helping keep things running smoothly
Sometimes there’s also opportunity to help with:
Photography / video / documenting the project (if that’s your thing)

  • Languages

    Languages spoken
    Polish: Fluent
    English: Intermediate

This host offers a language exchange
English is the main language spoken here, so it’s a great opportunity to practice in a relaxed, real-life environment. We are both originally from Poland, so there’s also a bit of Polish around the house, and we enjoy sharing language and culture with others. We often host people from different countries, so there’s usually a mix of languages and perspectives. We like learning a few words from each other, sharing stories, and helping where we can. No pressure — just natural conversation as part of everyday life 🌿

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

You will be staying inside , not in a separate cabin or shared dorm.
We offer a private Master Suite within the house, including:
    Your own bedroom
    Walk-in wardrobe
    Private ensuite bathroom

Depending on the setup at the time:

    * We usually host couples (one suite per couple)
    * In some cases, we may host two individuals sharing the suite, set up with two single beds

The space is comfortable, quiet and surrounded by rainforest, with large windows and a strong connection to the environment.
This is an off-grid architectural home, so you’ll be sharing the house with us. You’ll have full access to:
    Living areas
    Kitchen
    Outdoor spaces
    Swimming pool
It’s not a luxury resort, but it is a well-designed, unique space with a lot of character.

    We provide shared, cooked dinners..
For the other two meals, we supply ingredients for breakfast and lunch, allowing Workawayers to prepare their own meals based on their preferences.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We currently prefer hosting couples, as the accommodation setup (private Master Suite) is designed for two people sharing one space.
Due to the location, having your own car is highly recommended, as it gives you the freedom to explore the area and access shops (around 35 minutes away).

We’re looking for people who genuinely want to be here, contribute, and be part of the experience — not just pass through.
If that sounds like you, we’ll get along well 🌿

We do have Starlink internet, which is generally reliable and good enough for most remote work (calls, emails, light uploads, etc.). That said, this is not a typical “work-from-laptop all day” setup. Life here is off-grid and hands-on, and we expect the agreed 20 hours per person per week to be prioritised. Outside of that, you’re free to organise your own time and work schedule. Many people find a good rhythm between helping on the project and doing their own work.
