    Description

Hola Amigos! We are Juan Camilo and Daniel. We are a language school in beautiful San Carlos, Colombia. We teach Spanish to students from around the world as well as offer English classes to locals. Our school offers a unique opportunity to get off the tourist trail and experience the real Colombia, as you’ll be fully immersed in a town with little-to-no international tourist traffic. We believe this is the best way to learn and understand a new culture and a new language.

San Carlos is a small town near Guatapé, and is easily accessible via bus from Guatapé or Medellín. The town is surrounded by breathtaking nature, including hiking trails, fincas, rivers, and over a hundred waterfalls with crystal clear water where people all over Colombia come to swim, relax, and connect with the nature around them. It is an ideal place for cost-conscious travelers who want to learn Spanish, and do so while experiencing the natural landscapes and scenery of this beautiful country. Breathe in the fresh air, explore the town plaza, go for a hike, take a swim, launch off a 15-meter waterfall, and connect yourself with nature—all while taking classes from extremely qualified, Colombian native teachers.

The school is located on a farm surrounded by nature, lots of birds and beautiful sunsets, we live with two friendly donkeys, a little dog and a sassy cat.
Volunteers will stay in a shared room with bunk beds. You will share a bathroom with other guests and students, and will have access to amenities such as wi-fi, kitchen, laundry, etc. Lunch is also included at a local restaurant every day (Monday-Friday).

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Transportation cost (a bus from Medellin to San Carlos is ~20.000 COP) must be covered by the volunteer. You will be responsible for breakfast and dinner each day as a way to encourage you to become familiar with the town and its friendly citizens. This is also a great way to improve your Spanish skills!
Even living on a farm, the transportation around the town is really easy there are public transportation and the school has his own transportation (minivan), the road from the farm to the central square is very short and easy to move because it is flat and paved (on a bicycle it will take you around 30 minutes)
