Description
I'm 44 years old, and a few years ago I bought a piece of land in the mountains of northern Tenerife with my partner. Over the course of eight years, we worked together to create our own little piece of paradise.
The relationship eventually came to an end, and I now live here on my own with my two dogs. I would like to share this special place with people who enjoy nature, animals and a simple way of life.
What I’m looking for is mainly some light help with everyday life here, especially spending time with the dogs and helping with simple tasks such as watering when needed. More importantly, I see Workaway as an opportunity to meet people from different places, share experiences and cultures, enjoy some time together and learn from each other.
I really value building genuine, long-term relationships rather than just having short-term visitors passing through. I would also be open to meeting people who, after getting to know the place and each other, might be interested in staying for longer periods or even making the finca part of their life on a more permanent basis. -

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The most valuable thing we offer is the possibility of joining a small rural coliving nestled in an amazing and unique environment.
I’d be happy to introduce travellers to the social side of life in Tenerife and help them discover the island beyond the usual tourist experience. Depending on the moment and on what we both feel like doing, this could mean meeting local people, going for walks, visiting interesting places or simply sharing everyday life here.
I really enjoy talking and exchanging ideas about all kinds of subjects. I’m especially interested in culture, technology, philosophy, nature, society and different ways of living, but I’m curious about almost everything and I enjoy learning how other people see the world.
I can share what I’ve learned from living in Tenerife, creating this place over the years and adapting to a simpler life in the mountains. At the same time, I’m very interested in learning from the people who stay here — their culture, experiences, skills and perspectives. -
Help
I’m mainly looking for couples who enjoy a simple lifestyle surrounded by nature and who feel comfortable living in the forest.
It’s important to keep in mind that, although Tenerife has a subtropical climate, the property is located at almost 900 metres above sea level, so the weather can be quite humid and cool at times. The beach is only about 30 minutes away by car and temperatures there are warm for much of the year, but up in the mountains the climate is very different — the mountains are the mountains!
The main help I need is with my two friendly dogs: taking them for walks in the forest, feeding them and spending some time with them every day. They really enjoy company and attention, so it’s important to me that you genuinely like animals.
Apart from that, the help around the property is quite light. From time to time, I may appreciate some help with simple tasks such as watering plants or helping with small everyday tasks around the garden. I normally take care of the land myself, so I’m not looking for anyone to manage the property or carry out professional gardening or landscaping help.
The finca includes around 3,000 m² of woodland and food forest, which makes it a very peaceful and special place to live. If you are interested in permaculture, plants or growing food, I’m always happy to exchange ideas, learn from your experience and share what I have learned over the years.
For me, the most important part of Workaway is the cultural exchange. I enjoy getting to know people, sharing conversations, experiences and everyday life, and building real connections rather than simply exchanging accommodation for work. -

Accommodation
We can offer a private cabin with heating, a kitchen and a bathroom, located in the wooden house you can see in our photos. Meals, cooking and shower gas, and diesel for the heating are not included in the exchange.
Please keep in mind that, although Tenerife is a subtropical island, our area is cool and humid — which is precisely what allows the beautiful forest surrounding us to thrive. Cloudy, misty and rainy days are common throughout much of the year, so think more along the lines of a “UK spring or summer” rather than a “hot tropical beach” climate. -
What else ...
Tenerife is a micro-continent where you'll be able to enjoy forest hikes, desert walks, scuba diving, relaxing beach time and much more - Los Gigantes, Punta de Teno and Garachico are very popular destinations near us.
You can move around the island with public transport, but it's not very frequent (especially in remote areas like ours) so having your own car would help you make the most of your free time.
Children, and LGBTQ+ folks are welcome. -
