    Description

I am looking for an energetic all around individual that is looking for a long term stay. As this is more long term it would have to be the right candidate.
I am a widow that lives mostly on my own. My kids are grown up, One is moving to Australia for a year in March and the other lives and works in the nearest City. I am looking for a bit of company in the main house while my eldest is away and help around the farm.
We live in an old traditional farmhouse, surrounded by stables and an arena for working horses, a bit of land and a little garden. We have 6 dogs of every shape and size with three living in the house. We live in a rural area and this can often mean friends popping in for a cup of tea and a chat. We live close to sea and local towns Clonakilty, Skibbereen and Dunmanway. I enjoy swimming in the sea in summer and during winter months i have the fire and stove burning to heat the house. Some of the help I need includes preparing firewood. I spend a lot of summer playing around with horses and dogs and generally horseing around.

The horses and farm are only for pleasure (not a business) so the help will be light upkeep of the garden. Painting, weeding. Very flexible hours etc. The people we are looking for must be up for the craic (fun) and we will have an amazing time!

Having your own transport is essential as we are very rural and bus route is approx 5 miles from where we live.

This situation is ideal for somebody who works remotely and needs a roof over their head.
Ideally the person can drive an old tractor as this makes work lighter.

They could improve language skills (english), learn about Irish culture, museums and pubs locally. No better way to learn about Irish Culture than down in the local pub or a local farmers market! Haha

  • Help

    Help

There will be a lot of outdoor help in close proximity to the horses and other animals along with general help of the family hobby farm.
Currently we do not have any tasks directly with horses as it is too risky but there are plenty of opportunities to help around the farm and live with all our animals.
Plenty of time for work and play, but most important must be willing to join in family life as it is.
